I'm so MAD!

Well your lucky that the person that told you "you could add the 5 person" didn't delete your ressie! I would be WAY mad though...I hear you on that one. Just keep calling back, I know it seems like a pain but when I wanted to add Le Cellier- I called & called- I felt that I was being a pain in the butt! But I did get it-after a week or 2 of calls...Good luck:wizard:

we had a trip a few years ago where we ended up with one extra person he was able to come to all of our characters meals at the last minute...never a hesitation at the desk

When we showed up for all of our ADR's last Aug/Sept they always asked how many were in our party. Like it had changed from the reservation? So I think if you show up and say 5 you should be fine. I think the computer system is set up with x number of tables that hold x number of people and when they say it's full it's because the computer says those size tables are full. In reality when you show up they just seat you at the next available table that will fit your group. So it's a case of what the computers says will fit and what in reality will really happen day of.

I booked all of our ADR's with my niece and my neighbours (total of 6 people). Some of them were with all of us together and others we were seperated into (4 + 2). I sometimes was dining with just my niece as my neighbours decided not to come. We were always seated at the restaurant. We might of had to wait a bit longer, but that was fine.

The only problem we had was when one of the ADR's we went to was seperated into (4 + 2) and I didn't realize. So one table was ready and the other one never got checked in as the CM booking the ADR's gave me two different ADR #. Most of them were linked to the same # but I guess the one CM liked give out two when there were two tables. Luckly it just happend this one time. We even got a table for 6.

This was during Free Dining!

Don't give up, I'm sure they will fix it when you arrive at the restaurant.

Tell them that you made the ressie for 5 but you were calling on a cell phone and the reception wasn't that good. You will be accomodated.
Better advice is as given in other posts - in addition to continuing to try to change your reservation, ultimately just show up with your party of five.

The host/hostess at the actual restaurant has more flexibility to accomodate than the phone CM's do. I think that's why he thought having that noted in your reservation will be OK. The phone CM's taking the ADR's can only fill the slots. They can't make any decisions about sliding up another chair or pushing 2 tables together. They just fill the slots. The folks at the restaurant can decide about pushing tables together or adding an extra chair.

Like you, I would feel better if it was already arranged and not just "show up with an extra person". Try this - see if you can get an additional ADR for 1 or 2 people at the same time as your current ADR (or really close to the same time). Then when you get to the restaurant - tell them you are all together. Then, at lease everyone has an ADR. (We had to do this in a couple of places - it was not an issue)

Ther is no 1900 PF anymore!:rotfl: Most of us know what you are talking about.
I say just show up with being 5 and tell them they made a mistake. I have never done this but do you think that Disney would turn you guys away?

I agree with this posters, Give me a break they will fit you in especially with the economy the way it is, Disney is money hungry like everyother business and the aren't gonna turn you away, dont stress out, everything will be fine :)

Thanks everyone! So, the latest is...I called back AGAIN and spoke to "Cliff".... he said he cannot "officially" add someone but he has noted the rez that we would like to add an adult. He told me to just show up with 5 people and it will be NOOOOOOO PROBLEM! lol. Why do I find that hard to believe????

I've been through this before. The CM told me just to show up with the extra person and tell them at the restaurant that we had someone else join us. I worried and worried about it for months, thinking if they turned us away, we'd just eat counter service, but when we finally got there for our ADR, everything was just fine and it was during a very busy time as well. Don't worry anymore about it- Just show up and tell them Grandma came too! Things will work out just fine for you!

We had 2 extra people that ended up wanting to dine with us in Oct at San Angel Inn. I had a ADR for 4, and tried calling to add 2 more people. They couldn't do it because the restaurant was completely booked. We even went to guest services in EPCOT when we got to the park to try again to add to the ADR. They couldn't do it. When we got to the restaurant, we just decided to ask the hostess to add the additional 2 people. She did it with no problem, it didn't even seem like a big deal to her. We did have to wait a couple of extra minutes to get a table for 6, instead of a table for 4.

You will be fine showing up with an extra person. Don't let it stress you out. Have fun!

The dinner use to be called 1900 park fare but it is now called "Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner " that is what I was referring to. sorry if I got you scared. At one point didn't they change the name to something like "gala feast."

The name of the restaurant is 1900 Park Fare, but you are correct that this is not the name of the dinner.

We walked in with an extra adult to CP on Saturday and it was no problem at all.

The restaurant will do their best to accomodate your extra guest. You may have a little wait, as you will need a table larger than the one you now have booked. It is very rare that Disney turns away extra dining guests.

So why dont they just have this ADR feature over the internet instead of having to call?

To the OP, they can't just "add" a person to your reservation. In order to change the ADR from 4 to 5, they would have to book you a new reservation for 5 with a different confirmation number and then cancel the original reservation for 4. So, if the CM didn't give you a new reservation number, then he didn't do anything to change your ADR.

I would still keep calling every day. Check with them when you check into the resort as well. If you haven't had any success, then just show up with the 5. If they can accomidate you at that time, then they will!
