I don't have any swelling at any place, i also know what DVT is and i don't have the symptoms for this. Also the last time we traveled was already 5 months ago (yeah i know way too long ago).....

On a side note:

So i called the doctor for an appointment and i could come straight away.

I don't believe you live in Europe because we are told here that the reason to be against universal health care is so we don't have to wait to be seen by doctors... We are told that months and years can go by before people in Europe can get in to see a doctor.

Of course, my dad just called an orthopedic surgeon so he can have his knees checked out and the earliest he can get in is the week after Thanksgiving (late November). Yup, good thing we don't have to wait to see a doctor here in the US.

Different parts of Europe have different healthcare systems. From my understanding, the Netherlands is half and half- long term care is on the state, short term is covered by insurance.

The one the US tends to point out is the UK NHS system for its comparison. I can see a doctor as soon as they have an appointment available depending on how I am triaged. If I don't mind which GP I see, I can often get an appointment in 2 days, if it is serious then I just walk into an Accident and Emergency department or a Minor Injuries unit, and they will see me with no charge at time of need (of course we all pay taxes which go towards the NHS).

I personally love the NHS, and can't imagine living without it (plus it employs both my mother and sister!)

Hope you feel better soon! It's amazing even here in the US that you could possibily have a serious problem or be in alot of a pain and when you call for an appointment, the first available one is 3 months from the date you called.
