I posted a few days ago about just finding out that many email communications such as Disney Insider, Family Fun, Disney Store to name a few, are not being delivered to International guests. I emailed Disney for an explanation, and here is their response:
"Thank you for contacting Walt Disney World Resort!
Please be assured that we will forward your comments to the appropriate area. The restriction is not a technical one, but a business policy one and we will make sure to share your concerns. If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us."
To add fuel to the fire, I just called Disney Magazine to ask about a promo us DVC members get (2 years for $10.00). Guess what - we can get this promo as Canadians, but they add $12.00 to the total for delivery! Although I love Disney, I am losing my patience with their US only attitude. It's ok to take our money for products, movies, tickets, DVC, resorts, toys, etc... but they can't email us newsletters, promos, etc... because they have made a "business decision" not to do so! Last time I checked, it didn't cost money to send. out email newsletters to Canada. What's even more silly is that I received another email that said that they located another account of mine (didn't realize I had two), and this account was registered as a US account, and so I received the newsletters that I have been trying to receive for over a year now, yesterday!
It's all very confusing since they've made a business decision not to email other countries, but they then tell guests to register for separate accounts as US citizens in order to receive specific emails??? They even told me it would be ok to maintain both accounts. I don't get it!
Anyway, just wanted to pass this info along as I see that others have been wondering about missed emails from WDW as well.
