I'M JUST SHOWBOATIN' AROUND THE WORLD! & getting pooped on. Jan 13 TR! NEW TR POSTED!

Oh no worries at all about being behind; I know that feeling all too well! I'm trying to keep the updates coming but also not go too fast, haha. It's a difficult balance!

And oh my gosh, I'm so excited that you're showing it to your DD! I hope you guys enjoy it together. That's so awesome of you. You'll have to let me know what she thinks! :goodvibes

She love love loved it! She especially loved watching Tinkerbell fly & all the monorail shots. That's her favorite ride lol :tink:

I'm totally gonna be one of those crazy peoplre trying to get in for lunch ,I don't care how long i have to wait I'm on a mission i've already bought all kinds of little games n other things to entertain my daughter while we wait

I found your DLR report and loved it. This one is even better. The ride photos are hysterical. Looking forward to more.

You guys are just like us! Hooray for nerds! Sooo I'm following you on twitter...*evil laugh* (I'm @PittFrenchie)
And my husband just got me into watching LOST...we finished the second season like a half hour ago and I AM DYING. Abrams is an evil, evil man. Anywho, loving this TR! :cheer2:

Just found the DIS boards about a month ago - don't know how I've missed them for so long! I'm now kind of obsessed with reading trip reports & I just finished your Disneyland TR and have read all you've posted so far about your recent WDW trip. Just wanted to say that your reports are amazing - thanks so much for sharing with all of us!

We also live in the Seattle area & have been lucky enough to take two glorious trips to WDW (2/05 and 2/08). I grew up going to Disneyland several times a year, and we took our boys there in April 2010. My sister and I just did a whirlwind one day trip about a month ago to DL - had a blast but one day is NOT enough!

Right now I'm dreaming of an early December trip to DL because I have to see those decorations in person! Loved, loved your TR about your DL trip and your photos are beautiful. Don't know if we'll be able to get the time this year (DS18 is graduating in June & we're going to Mexico to celebrate), but a girl can dream!:santa:

I love the idea of providing the Grey STuff! That's hilarious! Glad to know it is tasty too. I may have to make up a celebration just to get it..........;)

I know, right?! Such an awesome little surprise! I just wish you could order a dessert made from it, it's that delicious!

I think that wouldn't be a bad idea. :thumbsup2

Whoa! That restaurant is so wonderfully themed! I love seeing when Disney puts a concept out there and follow through all the way with the plans! They did such a fantastic job there! I'm hoping to do the QS there for lunch!

Wow, I didn't realize how tall Matt is until I saw the picture of you guys with Beast! He's almost as tall as Beast!

Great update and review of the pictures! Looks like it was a GREAT experience!

YES it really is!! It's just amazing. I'm planning on doing a QS lunch on our next trip there for sure, since I think we're going to be skipping the Dining Plan this time.

Haha yes, Matt is 6'5"! I actually thought the same thing in these photos; Matt could definitely be friends with Beast!

Thanks! It was absolutely fantastic and I think everyone should try to experience dinner there at least once!

Oh my god I've been wanting to watch Beauty and the Beast for a few days now...AND NOW IT MUST HAPPEN. Your pictures made me want to watch it soooooo bad hahaha

I think I am going to lose it when we go next time at the fantasyland expansion... Considering Little Mermaid and B&tB are my #1 and #2 favorite movies, followed closely by Tangled, haha.

Ah! It all looks so awesome..And the grey stuff! AUGH!

YUP, you should so do it! And that restaurant basically IS straight out of Beauty and the Beast, it's crazy.

Yeah, you are going to explode. Have you seen the new Tangled restroom area photos?! Only Disney could manage to make a restroom area look BEAUTIFUL. It's gorgeous, especially at night.

The Grey Stuff was so good!! I want some right now.

I love the "cookie monster" picture!:lmao: That whole group had on sweaters and tights. Weird. They must be international visitors cause Americans know you wear Mickey shirts and trainers to Disney World ;)

I did not know that the Grey Stuff wasn't a menu item! What?? :scared1: That is just silly. They should sell me a tablespoon of that for $20 that's how it usually goes. :) Nice update!

Hahaha, it was so weird. I just have no idea how that's a fun outfit to wear to the parks! :confused3

Nope, it isn't on the menu anywhere! Just a special surprise, but it's so good!! :goodvibes

Saw your awesome video and decided to read you TR. I'm so glad I did! I love your writing style so I am now subbed!

Also, you made me SOOO ready to see BOG! I can't wait. The West Wing is amazing.

Oh awesome! I'm so glad you decided to watch the video and you've joined in on my TR!! :goodvibes Thank you so much for the super nice comments!

BOG is amazing!! Definitely worth the ADR. The West Wing is beautiful!

Thanks for joining in and commenting!!

Great shots inside Be Our Guest! I cannot wait to eat there sometime soon! :goodvibes

Thank you! It was hard to honestly take photos in there but some of them came out pretty okay! It's an amazing place to eat!

Yay two updates from you today, this is awesome!!!

I LOVE your gargoyle pictures ... absolutely hysterical! I must say, I think Matt wins, though. You look like your about to laugh, and your description of Bruce's look is SPOT ON. Although they are all pretty amazing, though.

I was SO tempted to take home the napkin ... I didn't though, but it was VERY tempting, just sitting there looking so beautiful. I love all the little details, including the napkin - super authentic.

Your pictures are ABSOLUTELY stunning my goodness!!

We had the grey stuff as well, and yes, it WAS delicious! And hahaha I agree with you about the paper on the desserts - it was actually the most annoying thing - I lost half my cake because it was stuck in the paper. I was kind of mad LOL.

I love that you get to meet the Beast - he was such a sweetheart when I met him. <3

I LOVED these two updates - you captured BoG SO perfectly, and I cannot wait to see the next update!

A double-update indeed!! Probably to make up for the fact that I'm not sure when my next one will be.. probably in a day or two!

Matt does win! Mine was just, I don't really know, but Matt had the face pretty spot on. Bruce was just in timeout. :rotfl:

I agree, those napkins were so awesome! I wonder if it's hard to make them.

Aw thank you! That place is really hard to photograph, but some of them seemed to come out okay! :goodvibes

Ahh wasn't the grey stuff amazing?! So good! And that stupid paper needed to go, because I lost half of mine, too! Hahaha.

Beast was adorable. I just wanted to hug him forever!

Thank you so much again!

Wow, Be Our Guest looks amazing. I can't wait to eat there, though we are only going to do lunch on our trip. But my sister is going there for her birthday dinner next week (so jealous...)!

That chocolate cupcake looks delicious and that's awesome you got to meet Beast!

It WAS amazing and I highly suggest it to anyone thinking about it! I've heard the lunch is a fantastic experience, as well. I think we're going to check it out on our next trip! I bet your sister will have an amazing time!!

It WAS very good and very rich! And Beast was great to meet, he's pretty adorable! :goodvibes

WOW!

That's all I have to say about Be Our Guest.

This is the first TR where I haven't totally scrolled past a Be Our Guest update, and wow! It looks stunning!! I had a reservation there when I was there that I ended up cancelling and now I am regretting that slightly. Everything just looks so amazing!

And the Grey Stuff is too awesome. I love that it exists. :)

Also, I love your gargoyle face contest. I may have to steal that idea when I eat there someday.

That was pretty much my reaction when we first walked in! It was absolutely breath-taking!

You could always try doing lunch there once instead of dinner, I've heard it's fantastic! But dinner was amazing, too!

The Grey Stuff is really good and I love that they actually do serve it! It's an awesome thought by Disney, for sure!

Bahaha, you so should. We're dorks and though it'd be fun to do, because again, we have no shame when we're in Disney World!

LOVE the foam drinks. I am a foam person, and that punch looked divine. Can I just move into the castle?

I so wish I had made this reservation! I am kicking myself now. The thing is, my wee one would not be impressed. He's not a fan of Beauty and the Beast like his mama! He's also super picky. Le sigh! I need an adult only trip! ;)

Me too! They were so good! And yes, I think that would be totally acceptable, to just move in. No biggie!

Aww, yeah, at some point you need to try to eat here!! It's too bad the wee one doesn't like Beauty and the Beast, but maybe some day he will! Or ya know, and adults-only trip would be fun, too! :thumbsup2

Okay, the title alone really made me repeatedly giggle but the pic of you guys trying to do the gargoyle face, omg.

PRINCE ADAM IS NOT HIS ACTUAL NAME!!! I learned this when I called him that in my TR. No official name was ever given to the Prince besides Beast. His real name is a mystery! Fans made up the name Adam and it caught on.

Be Our Guest just looks so wonderful in every way. I am so excited to go there even just as a CS meal. I'm sad we lost our reservation, but the CS looks amazing too! So no one's mad. BUT AHH I WANT THAT GREY STUFF.

Hahaaha, I'm glad you thought it was funny, and we're such dorks with our faces but who cares. It was a contest and it was ON!

OMG, funny you mention that because I almost brought that up in my update when I put Adam! I'd JUST heard that somewhere online and so I was going to make a little aside about it in my update but then thought no one would care and that I was just rambling. But anyway, such a weird thing that he doesn't have a name! Adam is kind of weird anyway. Plus he has a weird nose.

It IS wonderful! I'm so sad that you guys lost your reservation, but maybe another one will pop up! You never know, honestly. But the CS is pretty awesome from what I've seen in other TRs, and I am thinking we'll check it out on our next trip! They just need to sell the Grey Stuff at all times of day because it's so amazing.

All I have to tell you Dani is that I read your update this afternoon while getting a tattoo. I could barely concentrate through the pain, but I remember dreamily reading about BOG! LOL

Hahaha, that is probably the most interesting what I've ever heard of someone reading my TR update! Glad it helped you get through, and I love your tattoo!! It's amazing!

Be Our Guest....AAAAAAAHHHHHHH! We went before it opened on DVC preview days and I literally cried! It is so amazing! We stayed in there forever just in awe! Now I can't wait to eat there! No dinner ressies, so I'm going to try for lunch. But now I saw your pictures with the Beast IN HIS CASTLE I am dying! And the grey stuff? Did you say cookies n'cream? Meaning Oreos? Yummo!!!!
Love the statue pics.Hilarious! Bruce really seems like such a character himself.

I can understand why you cried because it really IS amazing!! Lunch will be wonderful though, I am hoping we can make it there for lunch this next trip, as well!

Yes, Beast in his castle was really amazing, especially since he just sits in his study! And yes, the Grey Stuff is SO GOOD.

Bruce is a character, hahaha. I love it. I've been telling him how people in my TR have commented on his ridiculousness a few times and he's laughed. He can be pretty hilarious but he's also a quiet guy, too, believe it or not! Disney just brought out the hilarious side him in. ;)

Bahaha that definitely made me almost choke on my coffee.

EEK! You're right! :cool1:

You know we're excited for the Rapunzel potty in our house! It looks so big for just a restroom... Have you seen the overhead shots lately where you can see the lanterns hanging?
The back of the castle is so gorgeous! I always take pictures of it
I remember talking to you that day! I'm so glad you got ADRs.
These gargoyle pictures are priceless.
Your "foam on drinks" theme is going to make corporate so happy. They've been slapping foam on everything these days! This may turn out to be more prosperous for them than the light up ice cubes. :rotfl:
Isn't the whole place breathtaking?!? So awesome. I hope to experience dinner there one day, but lunch was awesome as well.
I was obsessed with the West Wing. It's just perfect.
We are such twins, for lunch there Kira and I split the steak sandwich with garlic herb butter. That seafood pastry looks amazing!
We split that cupcake as well!
BEAST!!! Love that guy

Hahahaha, I thought it was kind of funny. But seriously, I should've.

I KNOW! I can't wait to hear all about it from you and get lots of pictures sent to me on my phone!!

Um, I've now seen video of it and it's GORGEOUS. Like, I can't believe how beautiful it is and it's a freakin' RESTROOM area. Oh Disney, and their magical imagineering ways... Sigh.

I love the back of the castle, it's underrated!!

Haha yeah, me too, it was a little stressful but worth it! And yeah, I'd say they're pretty priceless. I love seeing Bruce and Matt especially.

I think Disney could use me as an example of someone who got sucked into the foam craze, hahaha. So silly.

I want to do lunch there now! Dinner was amazing but lunch would be great, too! And YUP, I would totally get the steak sandwich!! Twins we are.

Beast is a wonderful guy; I'm glad I got to meet him for the first time!

BOG looks SO amazing! This is the first dinner experience I have read about in a TR since everyone else I follow who has been went for lunch. I was content with just that, but now seeing your pictures I really want to go for dinner! Meeting Beast would be so awesome. I guess I will just have to be happy with whatever happens, because I'm sure reservations for dinner will still be difficult to come by when we go in October.

It IS amazing! And yeah, getting those dinner reservations was ridiculously difficult but as you can see, we loved it!

Trying to get one is most definitely worth it though! The whole meeting Beast thing plus the Grey Stuff was just too awesome. Honestly, while it might be challenging, I think if you call Member Services first thing on your 6 month mark, you'll be okay The only reason it took me an hour was because that was the first day they opened reservations up for Be Our Guest, so it was INSANE.

Ummmmmm......this sounds amaaaaazing! Like...I'm drooling just wishing I could try some.

Jealous. So. Jealous.

It WAS super amazingly good! You will just have to try it on your next trip!! Again, glad you're back on the DIS!

She love love loved it! She especially loved watching Tinkerbell fly & all the monorail shots. That's her favorite ride lol :tink:

AW YAY! I'm so glad she enjoyed it, that's so cute! And that is my kind of girl, because I LOVE riding the monorail!! :goodvibes

I'm totally gonna be one of those crazy peoplre trying to get in for lunch ,I don't care how long i have to wait I'm on a mission i've already bought all kinds of little games n other things to entertain my daughter while we wait

Ah you're not crazy, we'll probably shoot for it, too! I think if you get there like a half hour to 45 minutes ahead of time you're in good shape!! It is SO SO worth it, I swear! You are going fall in love!

I found your DLR report and loved it. This one is even better. The ride photos are hysterical. Looking forward to more.

Welcome!! Thank you so much for the great comments and for reading both my DLR one and now this one! You are in for quite a treat in the future if you've enjoyed the ride photos so far, hahaha. Thanks for jumping in and reading along! :goodvibes

:cheer2:

AW YAY! I think I followed you back on both places! So happy you've decided to join in, heck to the yes!

Even better, you are watching LOST. Oh. My. Goodness. It's just the best, I love that show so much. Season 3 starts off bad for a bit but I promise it'll get ten times better mid-way through that season.. and well, the finale of that season. Good God. But I'm not saying anything more!

Glad you're here!!

Just found the DIS boards about a month ago - don't know how I've missed them for so long! I'm now kind of obsessed with reading trip reports & I just finished your Disneyland TR and have read all you've posted so far about your recent WDW trip. Oh man, the DIS is such a great place to be! But I'm so glad you stumbled upon my DL TR and now you're here!! Thank you so much for the awesome comments, I'm happy to share my adventures with you!! :goodvibes

That is awesome that you're also from Seattle! YAY! We love it here so much, outside of how far away it is from Disney World, wompwomp.. I wish it was just a bit closer!

One day is not enough for DL, agreed! Even 2 1/2 had us rushing around all crazy! An early December trip would be AWESOME. We absolutely loved it and the decorations were amazing! I hope you get to go there around Christmas at some point because it really is magical.

Mexico is going to be so fun! If not this year though, you should do 2014! I will tell anyone that Disneyland at Christmas is a must-do in life!

We interrupt your regularly scheduled trip report update for some breaking news...

Yep, this is very exciting news, in fact, I've got two awesome things to announce (well, to those of you who didn't see my posts earlier on twitter :rotfl:).

Announcement number one...

If you haven't noticed it yet, which you probably haven't because I seriously just made this ticker and put it in my signature like, 10 minutes ago...

WE OFFICIALLY ARE GOING BACK TO DISNEY WORLD!! pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Our trip is officially booked for September 12th - September 22nd of this year!

We decided that we wanted to try to get in one more Disney World trip before our awesome Premier Annual Passes expire at the end of November, and September is the other time of year where crowds are much less crazy.

PLUS some other DISers will be there (leaving this all as a secret for now!), along with some other awesome events that we may or may not be attending, so it just seemed like it'd be the perfect time to go back!

Oh yeah, and if you also looked at my ticker, you'll realize we are booked at Beach Club Villas (you can't keep us away from our favorite resort!)

bcv_zpsc3520f7c.jpg

and a brand new resort for the two of us...

Villas at Wilderness Lodge!

wildernesslodge_zps36c6857d.jpg

We were initially planning on just staying at Beach Club Villas all 10 days, but when I went to book, Friday and Saturday of the first weekend we're there had no availability for a studio villa.

So we talked about it and decided to book our first 3 nights (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) at VWL!

I know, some of you are going, "WAIT, YOU are staying at Wilderness Lodge, Miss 'I will probably never stay there because it's too similar to home' lady?!"

I had a huge change of heart. You see, I've always LOVED Wilderness Lodge. That is something you can't dispute. But that being said, it's modeled after some of the national park inns here in the Pacific Northwest, so I thought it'd be kind of silly to stay there when we LIVE in the Pacific Northwest.

But then the more time I spent wandering the lobby and grounds on our past trips, and looking at pictures and thinking about it, the more I realized I actually DID want to stay there at some point, and Matt agreed. There's so much to love about it.

So we thought this would be the best opportunity to see what Wilderness Lodge is like to stay at, while still getting to stay at Beach Club during our trip. HOORAY FOR MORE DISNEY IN OUR LIVES!!

Oh, I said I had TWO announcements, didn't I?

Announcement number two is...

....

...

...(Okay, I had to keep you guys waiting in suspense)...

We are currently in the process of becoming Disney Vacation Club members!!!

This is beyond exciting and it's something Matt and I have been discussing and researching for well over a year now. We have both worked extremely hard towards this goal and now that we're here, we're so happy!

Nothing is official yet, but when it is, I will most definitely let you all know! Our home resort will be Old Key West, and we are so excited that we are finally going to officially be DVC members! :yay:

So yeah, it's been a pretty awesome Sunday! I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed, but in an extremely fantastic way! And you know darn well that I'll have another trip update for you guys soon. :goodvibes

Continued in next post

Yay! I saw the announcements on Twitter. That's very exciting!

I'll have to find myself in WDW sometime that week :) And this time at the same park as you! (I swear I'm not a creeper.)

AWWW YEAHHH. Yeah so I already saw everything on twitter and we've already talked about it... (and I actually guessed the second one!!! Bahah) but still so extremely exciting!!!!!!!

Congratulations on both announcements! We'll miss you guys by a week in September. We're staying at BWV September 29-October 3. We are sneaking another trip in as well since our PAP expires in October.

Buying DVC was a great decision for us. It is so much fun to be able to book a trip and not have to get out a credit card to pay! We stayed at OKW last October in a studio villa and it was only 10 points per night! That is our go to when we want a quick trip and don't want to use a ton of points!

Yay for the Beach Club Villas and Villas at the Wilderness Lodge! Both are amazing resorts. My family is in DVC so I've been lucky to stay at all of the DVC resorts in WDW (well, not Bay Lake Tower yet but that will change in 3 WEEKS!!!!!). Just beware, DVC definitely spoils you! ;)

Woohoo! Now that is some super exciting news! Though I am kinda sad that we'll miss each other by a few days as we'll be down at the end of August! :dance3: I can't wait to hear how you like VWL! That's my hubby's dream resort, but we're yet to stay there...I love the grounds and all, but I just have these reservations about the rooms for some reason!

And congrats on almost being a DVC member and welcome to the club!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Awesome!!! We will be at WL from the 6th -15th, so we'll have a few days of resort overlap. Maybe we'll see you guys in that beautiful lobby. :thumbsup2

We absolutely love WL, and going in September. The lack of crowds that week last year impressed us so much that we booked a bounce back for this year. Your ADR date is coming right up too! We booked ours yesterday and got everything we wanted, including Be Our Guest after your great review of it. You gotta love low crowd times.

Congrats on the upcoming DVC membership too. I see more Golden Tickets in your future, and perhaps a few nights at the Grand Californian... Very fun stuff.

"THIS IS BRAND NEW INFORMATION!" - Phoebe Buffay
I'm so excited for you guys and I can't wait to hear all about your trip! Also, I cannot wait to plan a trip that overlaps one of yours since you'll be out this way probably every year now. ;)
