I'M JUST SHOWBOATIN' AROUND THE WORLD! & getting pooped on. Jan 13 TR! NEW TR POSTED!

I think we all get a little emotional seeing the castle for the first time each trip!!! :goodvibes

UGH rude people are the worst!! Glad you didn't let them ruin your Disney day!

New Fantasyland looks awesome, I cannot wait to see it in person!!!

It's so true! It's just an amazing sight to see, especially when you've been away for what seems like an eternity!

Yeah, I wasn't letting them ruin my day, but good Lord, they were unpleasant people.

Oh man, it IS amazing. You can already tell that once everything is complete, it's just going to be unreal. I can't even wait!

Awhhh seeing the castle for the first time of the trip is such an emotional thing!

Your photos down main street are so beautiful! The colours look so beautiful despite the sky being a little grey! So pretty!!

The fist pumping photo is fantastic! Very much a breakfast club moment :rotfl:

Bahaha oh cookie monster lady, you crazy lady you!
I have taken quite a few sneaky shots of guests at WDW too. Some people just need to be captured to be believed!

Ewww crabby push-in couple suck! Some people really need to just chill and learn how to line up and wait without being pains in the bum! You really don't need to push anyone in Disney!!

I'm excited to try LeFou's Brew! It looks so cool with the foam and the mug!

Yay Matt got a job! I love that red card, makes you feel so spesh :goodvibes

OOOh so excited to hear about BOG!!! :thumbsup2

It is such an emotional thing, seriously! But so wonderful!

Aw thank you! The clouds did work out in my favorite here!

Bahaha, it was a very Breakfast Club moment! Too perfect.

Cookie Monster lady was just silly. But hey, whatever floats your boat! Just means I will take your photo! Mwahaha.

Those Crab apples needed to get outta there. So I told them to. Bahaha, I probably should have just ignored them but they were so inconsiderate I couldn't help but say something!

I really liked it, I know some people don't enjoy it but it's pretty tasty!

It DOES make you feel like the coolest kid in line, it's pretty awesome. Matt was the cool kid.

BAH I can't wait to post about it!

PS. I don't know if you saw but in my last update (not this one, but the one before the video post) I gave you a little shoutout because I posted the fish-gutting kid photo! Bahaha.

I'm really happy that we didn't have to deal with any rain during our trip, but I have to say, when you see New Fantasyland without the sun completely beating down on everything, it just adds a whole additional layer and feel to the area!

Also - my next update is basically going to be the exact same as yours haha.

Yeah, I totally agree! It was definitely nice to not have the sun beating down on us and to kind of see it during the afternoon was really pleasant!

Hahaha, I need to pop over there and check it out obviously, but that's really we are updating at the same time about New Fantasyland, haha. We obviously have similar tastes when it comes to what gets done first in MK! :goodvibes

I cannot wait to see the new Fantasyland! I am SO curious about LeFou's brew! The marshmallow is throwing me off!

I'm glad that you don't feel that the mermaids ruined pirates! I am interested to see the change!

These next fourteen days are going to go by so slowly! My cousin and her family left yesterday for their week with the mouse. We are very jealous, but they will be feeling the "Disney Blues" while we are there in a couple of weeks!

Oh man, it's pretty fantastic! I enjoyed LeFou's Brew, the marshmallow is VERY subtle, and it works well with the apple juice!

I was worried about them but the addition is so subtle that I am more than okay with it! I think it adds a fantastic element to the scene it's a part of!

OMG, I am so jealous, 14 DAYS! You must be dying to go! So close though, and yeah, they'll be having the Disney blues while you're there having a blast!

Ewww to the brew! I just tried it again on Saturday night; it was just as awful! Way too sweet, had to empty it out.

Haha, it's not for everyone, I suppose! It can be pretty sweet, but I noticed when I let it melt a little bit more it seemed to not be as sweet. That's too bad, but at least you gave it a second shot and know it's not for you, ya know?

I don't think I'll get it EVERY trip but I liked it well enough to share with Matt!

I'm behind by a few days but I can't wait until tomorrow to show DD the video of your trip (she's already asleep) - she will love it!

Oh no worries at all about being behind; I know that feeling all too well! I'm trying to keep the updates coming but also not go too fast, haha. It's a difficult balance!

And oh my gosh, I'm so excited that you're showing it to your DD! I hope you guys enjoy it together. That's so awesome of you. You'll have to let me know what she thinks! :goodvibes

Chapter Eleven: Try the Grey Stuff, it's delicious!... No seriously, try it.
Day 2: January 18th, 2013

As we left off, we were heading over to Be Our Guest for our 4:45 ADR!

We actually had time for a few photos along the way.

I am IN LOVE with Rapunzel's Tower! It's so amazing, even if it's just going to be a bathroom and all.

file_zps777e9db7.jpg

I really adore the back of the castle, it's beautiful and often forgotten as a great photo spot!

file_zps5f66a94e.jpg

file_zps5ff64665.jpg

So let's back up here for a moment. Many months ago, in I believe August or September, I was racing down my stairs to my living room at 3:55am, and as soon as 4am hit, I was dialing the WDW Dining phone number over and over and over again, trying to get through for Be Our Guest reservations.

It took me 50 minutes of constant re-dialing on both my iPhone and our landline (this was the first time I used that stupid phone since we got it, seriously), but I finally got through!

So there was much hype about Be Our Guest for all of us... or mainly me, since I was the one up at 4am making that reservation.

To say I was excited for this reservation is an understatement.

We walked up and there was a bit of a line, and I realized most of these crazy people thought they were going to be able to get to eat at Be Our Guest without reservations. HAHA WHAT.

We finally got to the front, checked in, and they gave us a buzzer, telling us to wait on the bridge and they'd be with us shortly.

The details in this area were phenomenal!

file_zpsd0ce2959.jpg

file_zpsc0db91b4.jpg

I was so happy to be here!

file_zps2ce2e565.jpg

We decided to have a fun little contest to see who could emulate the sad gargoyle's face the best.

I don't even know what my face is, clearly I am not very good at this contest.

file_zps8e28afce.jpg

Bruce got REALLY into it by even throwing down a pose, but he looks like he is a 5 year old hiding in the corner from his parents because he's having a tantrum.

file_zps45a69cc1.jpg

file_zps99cbd584.jpg

This one of Matt, he looks like he's making the "throw-up face" (the face our dogs tend to make before they throw up all over the place).

file_zps7e6f4b22.jpg

This second one, though, is pretty darn good!

file_zps4a988a39.jpg

Our buzzer went off soon after, and we were escorted inside the castle!

file_zps3ea613d5.jpg

file_zps946dcb8d.jpg

file_zpsc48aeaa8.jpg

Our host welcomed us, and informed us we'd be dining in the Ballroom!

As we walked, he pointed out that Beast was sitting in his Study, then said, "Oh actually, Beast has stepped aside for a moment!" because it looked like he wasn't there... but then when I peeked in to kind of look around, Beast was actually sitting in his chair just chillin', popped his head out and waved at me, hahaha.

I think the CM couldn't see him past the ordering stations that are in that room (for lunch time). It was actually hilarious when his little (or huge?) head just popped out of nowhere and he waved.

The CM told us, as we continued on to our table, that we would have the ability to meet Beast after we finished dinner! He said to bring our dinner receipt with us (just to prevent random people from walking in to get photos with Beast). I was pretty excited to meet Beast since that doesn't happen very often without a big line!

Finally we found our table, and we were seated in the Ballroom, but also right next to the West Wing! It was pretty perfect actually, because it allowed us a few of both rooms!

We all had napkins folded in the styles of a rose, which was obviously perfect.

file_zps879f6fbc.jpg

Oh, this room was REALLY difficult to photograph in because of the low lights and odd lighting, so my photos unfortunately have a weird shade to them.

We ordered our drinks, and I decided to be fancy and get the fruit punch with lemon lime foam. I was evidently digging this whole "foam on drinks" thing.

While we waited, I took some photos of the ceiling and the Ballroom. The chandeliers are absolutely beautiful.

file_zpsea2c293f.jpg

file_zps678fb2f0.jpg

But the snow! That was such an awesome effect. You really felt like you were right in the castle while it snowed outside.

file_zps7ef49bda.jpg

I decided to sneak a few photos of the West Wing from my chair, as well.

file_zpsd3f101db.jpg

That room was extremely dark, so my photos came our a bit blurry, but you get the idea...

file_zps899d5c49.jpg

I actually went in there to take photos since many other people were, and the portrait of Prince Adam was pretty neat. Whenever lightning struck in that room, which was every few minutes or so, the portrait would change to Beast.

file_zps1f72f0a3.jpg

The rose, however, was probably the coolest part of that room. Disney is just insane with their details, and to have the rose petals falling was just the icing on the cake in there.

Chapter Eleven: Try the Grey Stuff, it's delicious!... No seriously, try it. CONTINUED
Day 2: January 18th, 2013

I came back to my seat and my lovely drink had shown up. I was evidently really digging this whole new "foam on top of drink" thing this day.

file_zps2aa5b709.jpg

My punch was actually really pleasant. Not too sweet, and the tartness from the foam was perfect.

We put our dinner orders in, and were served some rolls. They were your usual rolls you'd see in Disney, but pretty tasty.

file_zpsba0b755f.jpg

While we waited for our dinner, Beast made an appearance from his Study, greeting all of his guests!

file_zpsc68012d8.jpg

He marched right past us, into the West Wing, and then headed back behind the curtains. It was a good way to give Beast a break, haha.

Eventually our food came out. I had ordered the Grilled Strip Steak - with Garlic and herb butter and Pomme Frites.

file_zps8f734e5a.jpg

Everyone else had ordered the Sauteed Shrimp and Scallops - with veggies in a puff pastry with creamy lobster sauce.

file_zpse88b2fc6.jpg

The food was wonderful! My steak was perfectly done, and I had a taste of Matt's and thought it was really delicious, as well.

After we finished our dinner, our waiter rolled out all of the desserts for us to choose from.

I went with the Triple Chocolate Cupcake..

file_zps7c17dc52.jpg

Matt went with the Chocolate Cream Puff..

file_zps7f60fb08.jpg

Amy went with the Lemon Meringue Cupcake...

file_zps952e16dd.jpg

And Bruce went with the Lemon Raspberry Cream Puff...

file_zps28e9cf96.jpg

My cupcake was VERY tasty and very rich. I didn't like the little plastic wrapping on the bottom of it though because it was impossible to get off, so I finally gave up and left it on. I believe everyone else really enjoyed their desserts, as well!

At the end of our meal, our server surprised us with...

file_zps7e9c523b.jpg

The Grey Stuff!! I was so excited to try it and so happy he brought it out for all of us.

It really IS delicious, seriously! I would totally eat an entire dessert made of the Grey Stuff. We pegged it down at Oreo/Cookies 'n Cream mousse, and it was super tasty.

I have heard you can only get the Grey Stuff if it's your anniversary, birthday, or another celebration. We didn't ask for it and it was just brought out to us, but we all were wearing our Anniversary pins/had it marked on our reservation. That was definitely a really great little surprise addition to our meal!

We were all very happy with our meal at Be Our Guest!

file_zps834b5a08.jpg

I'm not sure if Bruce was though...

file_zps2e4ab6d4.jpg

Just kidding, he was!

file_zpse08cdef7.jpg

I got a photo of Bruce and Amy in front of the West Wing. They are HUGE Beauty and the Beast fans so they loved this dining experience.

file_zps92eb3dd9.jpg

We paid with our Dining Plan, then headed over to meet Beast in his Study! He was on a break but there were only a few families in front of us. I was cool with it, because it meant I could take a few photos while we waited...

file_zps3ad7833b.jpg

I think Matt knew I was creepin' on him..

file_zpsd570fd09.jpg

file_zps26db2e69.jpg

Then he creeped on me, but I was prepared.

file_zpsf2264952.jpg

Finally, Beast came back and we got to meet him. He really is just misunderstood!

file_zps59987495.jpg

Photo0424FourBySix_zpsc8077039.jpg

file_zps5c0514cc.jpg

We said goodbye to Beast and thanked him for inviting us to dinner at his Castle, then headed out! I had to get one last shot of this guy staring at me.

file_zps4cf51d1d.jpg

Overall, this was an AMAZING dining experience. The atmosphere and details that they have put in to the restaurant are absolutely amazing. The food was very good, and though it's not the best I've had in Disney World, I'd still HIGHLY recommend trying to score a reservation here. Meeting Beast in his study and being surprised with the Grey Stuff were just awesome added bonuses to what I would have already considered a wonderful dinner!

It was very well worth the stress of being up at 4am like a crazy woman hitting redial on two phones over a hundred times. Hopefully you won't have to do that though for your own reservations!

Continued in next post

I love the idea of providing the Grey STuff! That's hilarious! Glad to know it is tasty too. I may have to make up a celebration just to get it..........;)

Whoa! That restaurant is so wonderfully themed! I love seeing when Disney puts a concept out there and follow through all the way with the plans! They did such a fantastic job there! I'm hoping to do the QS there for lunch!

Wow, I didn't realize how tall Matt is until I saw the picture of you guys with Beast! He's almost as tall as Beast!

Great update and review of the pictures! Looks like it was a GREAT experience!

Oh my god I've been wanting to watch Beauty and the Beast for a few days now...AND NOW IT MUST HAPPEN. Your pictures made me want to watch it soooooo bad hahaha

I think I am going to lose it when we go next time at the fantasyland expansion... Considering Little Mermaid and B&tB are my #1 and #2 favorite movies, followed closely by Tangled, haha.

Ah! It all looks so awesome..And the grey stuff! AUGH!

I love the "cookie monster" picture!:lmao: That whole group had on sweaters and tights. Weird. They must be international visitors cause Americans know you wear Mickey shirts and trainers to Disney World ;)

I did not know that the Grey Stuff wasn't a menu item! What?? :scared1: That is just silly. They should sell me a tablespoon of that for $20 that's how it usually goes. :) Nice update!

Saw your awesome video and decided to read you TR. I'm so glad I did! I love your writing style so I am now subbed!

Also, you made me SOOO ready to see BOG! I can't wait. The West Wing is amazing.

Great shots inside Be Our Guest! I cannot wait to eat there sometime soon! :goodvibes

Yay two updates from you today, this is awesome!!!

I LOVE your gargoyle pictures ... absolutely hysterical! I must say, I think Matt wins, though. You look like your about to laugh, and your description of Bruce's look is SPOT ON. Although they are all pretty amazing, though.

I was SO tempted to take home the napkin ... I didn't though, but it was VERY tempting, just sitting there looking so beautiful. I love all the little details, including the napkin - super authentic.

Your pictures are ABSOLUTELY stunning my goodness!!

We had the grey stuff as well, and yes, it WAS delicious! And hahaha I agree with you about the paper on the desserts - it was actually the most annoying thing - I lost half my cake because it was stuck in the paper. I was kind of mad LOL.

I love that you get to meet the Beast - he was such a sweetheart when I met him. <3

I LOVED these two updates - you captured BoG SO perfectly, and I cannot wait to see the next update!

Wow, Be Our Guest looks amazing. I can't wait to eat there, though we are only going to do lunch on our trip. But my sister is going there for her birthday dinner next week (so jealous...)!

That chocolate cupcake looks delicious and that's awesome you got to meet Beast!

WOW!

That's all I have to say about Be Our Guest.

This is the first TR where I haven't totally scrolled past a Be Our Guest update, and wow! It looks stunning!! I had a reservation there when I was there that I ended up cancelling and now I am regretting that slightly. Everything just looks so amazing!

And the Grey Stuff is too awesome. I love that it exists. :)

Also, I love your gargoyle face contest. I may have to steal that idea when I eat there someday.

LOVE the foam drinks. I am a foam person, and that punch looked divine. Can I just move into the castle?

I so wish I had made this reservation! I am kicking myself now. The thing is, my wee one would not be impressed. He's not a fan of Beauty and the Beast like his mama! He's also super picky. Le sigh! I need an adult only trip! ;)

Okay, the title alone really made me repeatedly giggle but the pic of you guys trying to do the gargoyle face, omg.

PRINCE ADAM IS NOT HIS ACTUAL NAME!!! I learned this when I called him that in my TR. No official name was ever given to the Prince besides Beast. His real name is a mystery! Fans made up the name Adam and it caught on.

Be Our Guest just looks so wonderful in every way. I am so excited to go there even just as a CS meal. I'm sad we lost our reservation, but the CS looks amazing too! So no one's mad. BUT AHH I WANT THAT GREY STUFF.

All I have to tell you Dani is that I read your update this afternoon while getting a tattoo. I could barely concentrate through the pain, but I remember dreamily reading about BOG! LOL

Be Our Guest....AAAAAAAHHHHHHH! We went before it opened on DVC preview days and I literally cried! It is so amazing! We stayed in there forever just in awe! Now I can't wait to eat there! No dinner ressies, so I'm going to try for lunch. But now I saw your pictures with the Beast IN HIS CASTLE I am dying! And the grey stuff? Did you say cookies n'cream? Meaning Oreos? Yummo!!!!
Love the statue pics.Hilarious! Bruce really seems like such a character himself.

I should've just responded with, "YOU NEED TO CHECK YOURSELF BEFORE YOU WRECK YOURSELF."
Bahaha that definitely made me almost choke on my coffee.
YOU ARE GOING TO DISNEY NEXT MONTH.
EEK! You're right! :cool1:

You know we're excited for the Rapunzel potty in our house! It looks so big for just a restroom... Have you seen the overhead shots lately where you can see the lanterns hanging?
The back of the castle is so gorgeous! I always take pictures of it
I remember talking to you that day! I'm so glad you got ADRs.
These gargoyle pictures are priceless.
Your "foam on drinks" theme is going to make corporate so happy. They've been slapping foam on everything these days! This may turn out to be more prosperous for them than the light up ice cubes. :rotfl:
Isn't the whole place breathtaking?!? So awesome. I hope to experience dinner there one day, but lunch was awesome as well.
I was obsessed with the West Wing. It's just perfect.
We are such twins, for lunch there Kira and I split the steak sandwich with garlic herb butter. That seafood pastry looks amazing!
We split that cupcake as well!
BEAST!!! Love that guy

BOG looks SO amazing! This is the first dinner experience I have read about in a TR since everyone else I follow who has been went for lunch. I was content with just that, but now seeing your pictures I really want to go for dinner! Meeting Beast would be so awesome. I guess I will just have to be happy with whatever happens, because I'm sure reservations for dinner will still be difficult to come by when we go in October.
