I'm going to WDW!!!!

My parents booked my sister, my mom, and me a trip to WDW in October for my birthday and my sister's graduation! I am SUPER excited! We are going September 30th-October 4th (I have off Monday and Tuesday from work so it's a long weekend). I have never been in October! We are staying at POP and got free dining. We're going to MNSSHP and I don't know what to expect. I'm excited because it's Disney but I'm not a big Halloween person. What is it like? Especially for 3 adults. We have reservations at Crystal Palace for that night (sister's choice) at 7:05pm. Is it a waste to have a dinner reservation because then you can't enjoy the party to the fullest? Help! Lol

EDIT: Changed Crystal Palace to Tony's at 5:45 so we will have more time at the party!
