I'm going to Disneyland...

Thanks everyone...I'm feeling better now about not booking too far in advance. I'll start hitting the DLP board on a regular basis. :goodvibes

This is something we promised our daughter a very long time ago...she reminds us on a regular basis that we haven't ponied up yet, so I'm trying to work it out for the summer as she'll soon be out of high school and off to college. We will definitely being going the budget route...so you may not be jealous once you've seen some of the places we might be staying!

If you stay at a Disney hotel, the cheapest are Santa Fe and Cheyenne (from my vague recollectionings from a year and a bit ago).

We stayed at Santa Fe, it was very much like a value at WDW, but with a little less theming, but a free buffet breakfast!! Nothing huge, mostly toast, cereal, pain au chocolat, that sort of thing. You can ether take a bus or walk to the parks (we always walked, it really isn't that far), and the rooms are comfortable if a bit small. However it was perfect for our student budget!

Again, if you need any help, let me know!

Yep, prefer the Cheyenne out of the two (I've stayed in all hotels bar the Disneyland Hotel) and love the themimg of the Cheyenne!

Been a bit Disney mad today and almost booked a fortnight at OKW for next August with free dining. DW put a stop to it tho but I won't be defeated :lmao:

Hi, Lisa I've been to Disneyland Paris this March for the first time :goodvibes. I stayed at the Hotel l'Elysèe Val d'Europe, it's not ONSITE but is "friend" with Disneyland Paris. You still get the EMH and you have free buses that gets you to property (they are not very frequent) but they give you a time table and then you can plan the hours and everything. I paid €500 for 4 nights at the hotel, tickets to both parks the 5 days of my stay, breakfast (it was DELICIOUS), and the plane tickets (We are 2 hours away from Paris in plane).
The parks and the hotel are located in an area called Marne la Valle (not sure how to spell it). You can get also free service shuttle from the airport (Charles de Gaulle) to the Hotel, the thing is the shuttle is from Disney and they only stop at the Disney hotels, if you stay at another hotel that is "friends" with Disney you are dropped at the Disney station and you just search for the bus stop of your hotel. My experience was this: When we arrived to the station of Disneyland Paris we really didn't knew where we had to go to catch the bus for our hotel so we hopped into a taxi and we paid €10 to our hotel (I will recomend this because you are with all your lugagge and everything).
I don't know if I made myself very understandable but anyways if you need more information for this hotels just PM or send me a messagge on Facebook.
LUKE: I'm sorry we highjacked your thread, anyways you are so lucky to go by new years!

Lol hijack away, that's what these threads are there for.
Just one thing tho, the shuttle from cdg isn't free, it's €17 per person each way!!
I'm gonna hijack my own thread tho and say I'm now looking at SSR instead of OKW for august, free dining makes it a viable alternative to our usual offsite stays, tho I'm worried that our last hotels for vacations being the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress and The New York Palace we might feel disappointed with the Disney hotels, despite the 'magic' (not to mention that we don't spend out entire vacations on property, going to Universal, Sea World, shopping etc).

Either way, look out for my 'i'm going to DisneyWorld' thread at some point :lmao:

:goodvibes

Well, I'm back and had a great time despite the unbelievable cold, illness and crowds!!

Will post some pics of how beautiful DLRP still looks, especially the castle.

However, whilst we're home, our luggage is not and we await a delivery from Air France :lmao:

:sad2: Still no sign of the luggage :(

Just a quick photo of which I feel is the prettiest castle I've been to (WDW/DLR/DLRP)

Will post more photos when I get a chance, will mostly try to put up things that differ from WDW :)

what I love about DLP castle (from other Disney castles) is the inside, is so detailed and you can explore so many things inside, and what about the dragon? an awesome touch!

Oh yes, it's great having the little gallery upstairs in the castle, although we didn't visit it this time, nor the dragon!!

Here's another photo showing the detail of the turrets and a bit of the pinkness of the castle :)
