I have a whole lot to say about this:First, you should not be made to feel guilty about your career. Fortunately, women these days can choose to have a career and a family if they want to. There is nothing wrong with you wanting to be fulfilled in your career, and no commandment that states you must give up your career in order to be a good mother. Your MIL might not have had that choice when she was raising her children, but you are fortunate to be able to. Do not let her make you feel guilty.
Second, I would be willing to bet that if you were not working, you would be hearing rumblings about how her son has to work so hard to support his family, while Sandy runs around spending his money on stupid things like Disney vacations. You probably can't win with her no matter what you do.
Go on making the best, happiest and most fulfilling life you can for yourself, your DH and your family.
