I'm escaping to WDW from the heat in MINNESOTA!

Who'd 'ave thunk it? In 2004 DH and I celebrated retirement by visiting OKW in June. We vowed never to go in summer again because of the heat and humidity. Fast forward to 2011. We had to cancel our May trip for health reasons and DH suggested I go solo for a few days because he is feeling better. Against my better judgement I booked June 9 - 13 at SSR, praying that I could tolerate the heat. Well here in Minnesota it was 95° yesterday and it is already 100° today. So it seems I will be cooling off in Orlando where the forecast is 88° - 91°. Yeh, yeh, I know. It is the higher humidities that will get me.

I know, it's crazy, isn't it?! It's up to 102 right now! We're leaving Friday night for 9 nights at BLT.

Sorrt to hijack but we did acquire a great lake home on Wayzata Bay on Lake Minnetonka though-10 min from work so even out at lunch. Its small but fun. BRING ON THE HEAT. Have fun Jean.

If heat there gets to you, go to the SSR spa, it is very cool in there.

We just moved to western Texas and at the end of May we hit 111. Yes, you read that correctly. Our new community kept telling us how great it was that we had a dry heat. I personally think hot is hot, and I would rather we had been in Orlando sweating at the parks and resorts than here!

Have fun, Jean! I would never guess you would be going to Florida to cool off this time of year! We had a reading of 105 on our digital outdoor thermometer for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon. It isn't supposed to be hot today, so it was a short heat wave. I heard yesterday it was 20 degrees cooler in Orlando than here!

It's just crazy hot, this weather. Our family in Florida actually are able to sit outside and enjoy breezes in the evening, and they've take numerous bike rides lately. Bike riding isn't anywhere on my list of to do things around here!

Being someone that lives in FL it is amazing to think about coming here during the Summer to cool off. The evenings latley have been nice and the days sound like they are cooler here than a lot of other places, so enjoy! Have a wonderful trip.
