On this last trip, I made a ps/adr for Chef Mickey's and thought we could catch the character breakfast bus, but the cm I asked the day prior at the resort said there wasn't one :confused3

When we were at the bus stop at MK, there were a couple of bus drivers there (shift change, I think) so I asked them -- they'd know more than anyone, right? Well, one guy said yes, and the other said no, lol. The one asked what time it was for, and both were in agreement that a MK bus would be coming through an hour before the park opened so we'd make it in time to catch the monorail and get there.

That was great ... but it left me wondering ... Is there a character breakfast bus, lol? I am determined to solve the mystery :p

I've never heard of a Character Breakfast Bus - but I think it's a good idea!

When you figure out this mystery, please let me know! :) I had read on these boards that there was a "breakfast" bus, which ran in time for those with 8:05am ADRs to get there on time. When we went to catch this bus, I asked at the front desk about which area we would need to wait in. This person had never heard of a breakfast bus. I asked the bus dispatcher (?) outside the resort & she couldn't tell me when/if there would be a bus coming. We ended up waiting 45 minutes for a bus to Epcot to make the 8:30 PSB. This happened twice -- over two different trips. Once, we got there in plenty of time & once we were late. I really don't believe there is a dedicated bus to get you to the park on time for character breakfasts. But there should be!

The only character bus i know of is the one that carries the characters around to meet and greets in Epcot, sometimes AK. Nothing to do with breakfast, maybe you heard that mentioned and got it confused? i think it's a great idea though, especially for early morning ADRs.

Yes, there are character breakfast buses. Page 232, Passporter. :thumbsup2
But it's only for the breakfasts before the parks open.

Oh, no, lol, I know which one you're talking about, we've seen it at Epcot before -- I didn't think that was the character breakfast bus (thought it may be an interesting ride, lol)

For the character breakfasts at park restaurants ADRs are accepted from 8AM, even if the park does not have EE that morning. For resort quests who have an early ADR at one of these restaurants Disney starts running busses at about 7:15. If the park you need to go to does not open until 9AM that morning all passengers are supposed to be checked for an ADR. I don't know if they bother with checking before you get on the bus or just do it when you get to the park gate.

That's interesting that the bus drivers gave conflicting answers.

Tyler always says never trust anybody with transportation information unless they are wearing purple pants (bus drivers wear purple pants)

Tyler used to be a bus drvier at WDW and he wrote a thread about this very topic. It is old but still valid.
