Getting back to the dog grooming thing--I also don't tip at my childrens hair cutter because it is run by the owner. Even Emily Post says you don't tip the owner, since there's no one to "split" their take with. If the owner wants more, she should chage more.
Sometimes a kind gesture is appreciated as a tip. We had a new stove delivered yesterday and installed. No, I didn't tip the guys. But I did offer them some iced tea and cookies, which they scarfed up! Also, we've moved several times. Usually the moving crew includes several men, working their tails off for several hours. I always buy them lunch--buckets of chicken, barbeque and all the fixings. They're always appreciative, and its self-serving. A hungry man just doesn't work as hard
Also, it keeps them "onsite" and working. I've had crews go off for a noon day lunch and not return until late that day or even the next!
Honestly, dh was just saying the other night it seems we're expected to literally $hit money everywhere go if someone does their job right!
Well, consider us constipated!
Ok sorry folks, its been a hetic past couple of days!
