I was very concerned about the buses with an ECV given recent posts. No issue with drivers at all, although we did have an unfortunate incident after MNSSHP with a lovely guest who decided to yell at me while I backed onto the bus. Nice. Very upsetting, but since the alternative is me sitting at home, one must brave it out. My husband did yell at him when he wouldn't stop, so not something we are proud of, but I did a good job getting on the bus, so that was good. Ugh.
Here's my big tip. I made the same statement to the CM doing the seating I always do at the Rock & Rollercoaster when riding by myself-- it is hard to get out, and I don't want to be the first out and have someone next to me I don't know while I attempt to exit (I bop around myself when my husband works when he goes to WDW on business so am by myself). I always get put by myself after saying this except for this time... the cast member said there is a seat with a grab bar!!! Who knew!?! So I was standing with a young teen waiting to be seated and said oh my goodness, look at that! He asked what I meant, and I pointed at the grab bar and said I was not so great at getting in and out as I have extra bones in my feet. The bar rocked getting in-- very easy. I got out well although not so gracefully, but after the unfortunate bus experience, I apologized for being slow getting out, and my companion could not have been nicer. He took my purse to help me exit and told me I had all the time in the world (I had to get out first). Using the grab bar was much easier than being hauled out by my husband. Love the grab bar!
So there's my tip-- row 3 has a grab bar. It extends from the top of the car and is on the side where you get in/out. Still hard to manage (big step in/out and not a lot of room), but it really helped. Maybe everyone knew this, but it really helped me!
And I'm sorry for saying/thinking this, but I hope there's karma for the few people out there who need some.
