<font color=navy>... and it's beautiful here!!! The rascals and I are staying at the Bonita Tower, and we're really pleased with our room. I'll put pics up in a bit, but if you have any questions, fire away cuz I can probably check it out here. :)

Quickie question. Can you buy a 2, 3 or 4 day Hopper pass with days that won't expire 13 days after use, maybe are valid for 1-2 years after the start date. Heard you could buy those only on site and wondering if that is true and how much they are. Do you have to be a resort guest or can anyone buy one? This is what I want to buy next time we go to DL, but not sure if they still exist.

A year and a half ago we bought a 4 day Hopper pass on site, and it was a good deal because the days didn't expire for 2 years. We live in Northern California so usually use only 1 day here and there.

Thanks!
Jenn

Oops! Forgot to ask the other part. If these passes DO exist what number would I call to verify this right before we ask a friend to pick them up for us. My friend lives in San Diego so it would be out of her way, but I know she goes to OC sometimes. Also, is there any other way of getting this type of pass without actually being there, will they send them?

If these don't exist we will probably just go with the one day passes, but don't like those nearly as much. Love to do DL and then a few rides at DCA, but LOVE the food at DCA. We walk over to DCA for mealtime just because I like the food much better! Soup in the sourdough breadbowl or the chicken salad in the breadbowl, yummmmy!

Mary Jo,

Thanks for being so kind to answer questions. I have read that some of the fastpass rides are not connected to the network?? I guess meaning that you can hold more than one at a time?

Can you check this out? I am wondering what that really means for those with the unlimited fastpass options on the passes.

Have a wonderful time!

Thank you Nancy, that seems so funny that it is a different offer if you buy them at the gate. I was hoping that you could get them mailed to you to save asking for a favor from a friend, but having the 2 years expiration date with the Hoppers is really important to us, so will have to see.

Jenn

Hey, is this your weekend, MJ? Very cool! :teeth: Glad you and the rascals are having fun, it is certainly PERFECT warm weather for you guys. :sunny:

Hey MJ - how many Mickey bars have you had so far?;)

Do the maids at the Disneyland Hotels (we are staying at the GC) do the towel animals each day like the WDW maids do?

<font color=navy>Yup, Michelle - we took this weekend, and it's a Dream! :)

I've been to the Grand Californian twice with the AP specials they've had there, but it's been a long time since I've been here at the Disneyland Hotel, and I am very pleasantly surprised at the nice-sized rooms and the pleasant decor.

momoftwins ... I know that the Pirates of the Caribbean is not connected to the rest of the Fastpass system, but not sure about the other attractions. I've given my dd the task of checking this out tomorrow. :)

Marla - would you believe -- not one! Cleo & I had one last week, but I didn't have a chance today. :o ... but there's tomorrow!! :teeth:

renzdr - I haven't had that experience myself. I don't think they do that here, and I don't know if they do that at the Grand Californian, either.

Mary Jo - What is the room decore like?? Any Disney themes?? I heard there was a Capt. Hook restaurant,I think it was, at the DLH?? Have you been to Goofy's Kitchen?? And lastly whats the pool like, any theming??

Have fun! Were going up there today for some fun too! Couldn't ask for nicer February weather!!! ENJOY!!!

the room decor has creamlike two-toned diamonds on the wall. The room I am in is in like two parts - you walk in and there is a closet, bathroom, and desk setup at the front of the room (that's where I am at now :) ). There is a 3-1/2 foot wide wall that the desk is against. The closet is on the wall where the entrance door is. The bathroom is to the left, and the desk that I'm at is on the right. I have a light above, and a light on the desk w/a Mickey head at the top of the base of the lamp. I just noticed moons and stars, so I'm sure that when you turn the lamp off, it glows in the dark. :) There is a telephone here, with a data port that you can plug your laptop in. I noticed that when I'm online, I cannot call out, so keep that in mind when going on the Internet.

On the other side of the wall are two queen-sized beds. It's a good setup because I can sit here & work, and the light doesn't fall on the kids. There is a nightstand between the beds with a radio alarm clock and a telephone. There are two lights above the nightstand - one for each bed.

Opposite the beds, on the left of the wall, is an entertainment cabinet w/four drawers on the bottom. There are two cabinets on top. When they're closed, you can see the map of Disneyland etched on the front - pretty cool. The cabinet to the right houses the tv, and this tv can be seen by both beds when you pull it out on the shelf it sits on. The cabinet to the right houses the ice bucket, glasses, and a little fridge. This fridge doesn't have anything in it, so you can put your own stuff -- I found that to be very cool. There is no coffee pot, though - I think you can request one, but I'm not sure.

To the right of the entertainment center is a couch & when you take off the cushions, it's a bed w/a nice thick mattress to lay down on. I slept on it last night, and it was really comfortable.

Next to the couch is a table with a lamp and a chair.

On the remaining wall is a big glass sliding door with a miniscule balcony that you can just step out on.

The bathroom has one sink, and everything is contained in the bathroom (as opposed to the sink being outside, and the toilet & tub inside a separate room).

There are Disney touches all over the room, from the Mickey head on the lamp, the etched Disneyland map on the tv cabinet, to the etched castles on the bed headboards, and the border near the ceiling of Tinkerbell, with pixie dust streaming behind her. It glows in the dark when the lights are first turned off. In the bathroom, the room has white wallpaper that has pics of topiaries on it, with Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto -- it's very pretty. The bathroom fixtures remind me of Main Street. There are two lamps in the bathroom held up by Mickey hands - very cute.

I took some pics, and will post them later. :)

<font color=navy>Thanks, hookedup :)

The weather is nice, isn't it. I know we need the rain, but it's so beautiful right now. I hope it rains, then we get another weekend like this for our DIS meet in March. :)

I don't have my lime-green ribbons, so I doubt you'll be able to pick me out among the crowds, but Kelly and Brandi are dressed totally in Tigger & Pooh - you can't miss them -- Tigger/Pooh ears, backpacks that they wear in front, t-shirts/sweatshirts, scrunchies, pins....

<font color=navy>Renz - the girls just told me that the maid got their stuffed animals (they brought around 5), and arranged them on top of the bed -- the girls saw this yesterday when they came back to the room.

tink....

The hotel has topiaries around it, plus wood cutouts that you can take your pic with & it looks like you're w/the characters - It looks nice on film. Near the Bonita towers to the south are waterfalls with paths that walk behind them. (I was glad to find out that they turn the falls off at night - maybe 1am? and turn them on again at 8am - they're pretty loud & we're on the 4th floor right above them. There is also a koi pond & you can feed the fish twice a day. There is a pond with jungle cruise boats that you can drive for $2 a token, or 3 for $5. There is also a 'dancing waters' show each evening, and there are two pools. One pool has sand next to it where you can play volleyball (the laundry room is near this pool), and there is a much bigger pool that is themed to Neverland with a slide coming out of skull rock, and Peter Pan theming. Next to it is a Little Mermaid jacuzzi. Next to this pool is Hook's Pointe, which is a nice restaurant, with a wine cellar attached - next to that is the Lost Boys Bar, where you can relax outside or inside and enjoy the atmosphere.

Of course, there is also Granville's Steakhouse and Goofy's Kitchen here. For those of you who go to wdw, Goofy's Kitchen is like Chef Mickey's... and it is a lot of fun.

Thanks for the description...

I'm headed to DL for the first time in April. I made reservations for the Disneyland Hotel for two nights. I requested a standard view. Do you think I should try for a cash upgrade when I get there?

How far is the monorail? Will DS be able to see it from the hotel? He loves the monorail at WDW.

Hope I made the right choice in the hotel.

Thanks for all your help

Sounds like a pretty view....the couryards and water. I was offered a city view(lowest price) a pool view, or a theme park view. Which is yours. It almost sounds like a city view....but I was expecting regular old city lights and office buildings. If yours is a city view....I'm happy!:D

Can you check on the coffee makers? I'd love to have one in my room. I read that the resort fee pays for coffee, so if there isn't a coffee maker......between that disappointment and not having coffee in general, I'll be a bear.;)

This might be a silly question but can anyone partake in these events or do you have to stay at the hotel to be able to do them? Thanks MJ~

I can't answer about everything, but you can see the dancing waters show without staying there and can enjoy the topiaries. You can also pay to drive the little boats.

Not sure of everything else.

Jenn
