Greetings to all!
I guess I didn't follow proper etiquette as I didn't introduce myself before I started posting around (not that I've posted all that much yet). So... I figured I'd better introduce myself!
Here's my long story, short version (yes, this is short for me)... I'm in my late thirties but you'd think I was in my mid-twenties. I never got to go to WDW as a child (yup - I was deprived and still feel jilted). My first trip there was in 1999 and we stayed off-site. I was only at the parks two days and much overwhelmed by the group I was there with (ex-bfriend and his parents and SIS, BIL and their kids and I was meeting all of them for the first time during that trip!). The next time I went down I was there on a business trip in 2000 and our conference was at the Swan. I didn't even get to go to the parks b/c each day we were in meetings from before the crack of dawn til after dark.
Fast-forward 7 years to today... my bfriend is scheduled to take off work the week of Labor Day. I couldn't take that week b/c the project I'm working on at work was gonna be going full force during that time. Magically, the project got postponed as of last Friday. So all weekend I have been thinking about taking Labor Day week off also and started trying to plan some kind of short getaway for us. On Monday night after work I got this wonderful idea that we should go to WDW. I started doing research and talked him into it by Tuesday afternoon so I booked our flights that night. Yesterday, we booked our hotel and park tix.
Generally I am a huge planner and don't do things this big (or this expensive) at the spur of the moment. Have I lost my mind? NO! I'm under the spell of MICKEY!!
So I came across this board after I did some Googling of Pal Mickey. I'm so glad I did because in just one night I've learned so much!! (And I will probably get a Pal Mickey even though I'm almost 40 years old and it's a splurge I really don't need)
Thanks to all of you for all of the great info!! I hope I'm able to share alot with you as well!!
Looking forward to a great trip in less than a week and a half!!
