Just wondering about everyone's experiences with Illuminations and where you all think is the best spot to watch it from and when to secure your spot. :mickeyjum

In general or for a wedding?

For a wedding.. we did the french terrace and loved it - great view. I think we started at 8, illuminations was at 9 or 9:30 - We just had desserts. Everyone loved it, well worth the money.

In general - there are a few places with good views. The benches by canada, the tables by the outdoor cafe in mexico (closest to the water .. and these fill up fast) - the bridge by mexico.. the bridge by france .. the french terrace if it is open to the public, and even in the front of the world showcase, between the two shops. Basically, anywhere you can get close to the railing or bridge and will give you a clear view. As for when to get there.. it depends both on the time of year and your tolerance level.. Busy times of year, folks start camping out about an hour beforehand.. New year's eve about 2-3 hours before hand. Less busy times, 10-20 minutes and you could still find a good spot.

I have been fortunate enough to attend a number of Dessert Parties at Epcot and these have been at :

Morocco
UK Lower
UK Upper
French Lower (I believe these have different names but can't remember them at present)
French Upper
Italy Isola

Morocco for a small party is ideal and I have to say a different angle.

UK Lower is very close (we had this for our wedding) but it can get smokey and hot

UK Upper great as long as you get to be at the front LOL

French Upper and Lower are fabulous views and cater for bigger parties.

Italy Isola - a definite Magical view from there and again great for larger parties.

Hope that helps

Does anyone know approximately how many people Morocco will hold?

We had French upper...now "terrace du fleurs" or something. The view was top notch. I have been to other dp's and viewed it from other locations and this was my favorite but the 50 person min is a party kill:rotfl: I think my second favorite is UK lower!

Italy is supposed to be ebautiful but that is the one place I have never seen it...also for a party the min is very high.
