Illuminations Dinner

Hi everyone! I'm usually on the wedding board but I have a dining question so I figured this is the best place to be!

Just wanted to know if anyone has a suggestion for doing a dinner that will coincide with illuminations. Where would we be able to do this and how easy is it to recerve something like this for 6 people?

There is no restaurant where you can reserve a view of Illuminations. The only guaranteed arrangements in that vein would be Illuminations Cruises. I believe you can have them catered, but I'm not sure about that. It would be quite pricy.

About 30% of Rose and Crown's tables have a view of the show, but almost everyone who makes reservations to eat there during the show is there to see the show and wants to be seated at those tables. To keep the peace, the tables with the view are given out at random -- they cannot be reserved, and R&C staff are fastidious about avoiding any appearance of impropriety. Guests who are seated at other tables are allowed to stand at the back of the patio during the show, though.

The quick service eatery at Mexico has a bunch of tables with some view of the show, but you have to camp out on them a couple of hours in advance, since there are no reservations.

You don't need a patio table at Rose and Crown. Just ask your server to take you out to a special viewing area. You get an excellent view. The standing place is NOT behind the patio tables; it is adjacent to it, and you get an excellent view.

When we were there in 12/05 it was in "open-air"

It's now open air. They take you out to this patio space, and you are enclosed by the little fences. Lots of people went out, and it didn't feel at all crowded. It's next to the outside tables area, and behind the Rose and Crown.

Ah, that used to be a private-party area, right? Do they no longer have private parties there? Or are those arrangements pre-empted when there is a private party?

Private Parties? If the party was eight or more they would probably do a Magical Gathering at Odyssey. I hope this helps.

1) No guaranteed seating for eating and viewing fireworks.
2) Smaller groups (of four) sometimes can wait for a patio table at R&C.
3) Doubtful for a table for six
4) You can rent the private viewing are to the right of the bridge.
