We are planning a WDW wedding for next November. We would like to have a desert party that evening. We will be having about 30 to 50 people (not sure how many can travel down to Florida from the NY/NJ area). Anyway, we were thinking of the UK. I know there is a Lower and an Upper. Does anyone have any info on the differences? I thought I had read somewhere that there are already tables and chairs in one of the locations (not sure which one) so you are not charged for bring in tables and chairs. I would love some info on this from all you people "in the know". This has been such a great site to get info.

Thanks,
Linda

There are wrought iron tables and chairs in the UK Upper. The Upper Terrace is smaller than the Lower Terrace. I believe the rental fee is the same for each. There are 7 tables in UK Upper so you do not have to pay to have tables & chairs set up. However, there is a wall around the Upper Terrace.

We are having our DP there in December and I'm excited. It is next to the World Showcase walkway, but there are trees between there and the walkway.

Here are a couple of UK Upper Terrace photos:

HTH! Let me know if you need any other information!

Thanks for the info. We have a site visit planned for November and I want to have all my info with me.

The pictures were a great addition. Can't wait to check it out in November.

Best wishes with your wedding.

Linda

Are there any intimate brides doing a UK dessert party? I thought there were, but when I called and talked to my SM she told me the ONLY option for intimates is Morocco??

We're having an Escape and we were orignally booked for Morocco. I asked our planner in early August and she moved us to UK Upper (which works out to be $50 less than Morocco). Everything with DFTW depends on who and how you ask... Good luck!

we did a dessert party at the upper UK. It was FABULOUS!!!!!!

Really felt like a V.I.P they rope off the entire section and have a CM basically guarding the entrance and no ones gets in who is not on the list

the views of the show are absolutley amazing

we had this as a sort of thank you to our guests for making the trip down. I believe we had about 30 that night out of 39 guests who came down

this is at the top of our list for things to do again at some point in our life

Do you happen to have any photos you'd be willing to share? I'm familiar with the regular setup of the location, but I'm curious about how the dessert party is set up. Thanks!

Yes, please post some pics. I'm interested in seeing how it is set up also as I really wanted to have a dessert party there as well. TIA!!!:thumbsup2

I think that the benches and tables are bolted down. We had ours at the lower French, and I went to one at the Upper French and to one at the UK. All had great views. Just so that your guests do not feel cramped, you may want to see if you can use a larger space. I am not sure if you do the upper and lower uk if they will charge you two site fees. You may want to check on this with your planner.

There are 2 seperate site fees to use the Upper Terrace and Lower Terrace. I think they are both $325 (we're being charged $250 so I'm not sure on that...??).

There are 7 wrought iron tables with umbrellas (which cannot be removed) at the Upper UK location. You must use the wrought iron tables at the Upper terrace, but you will not be charged a "setup" fee ($50). The Upper location has a maximum of 50 and the Lower terrace has a max of 100. We will have 27 people which I think will be perfect.

I am curious how the dessert buffet is set up, though. I imagine it would be in the back corner.

We had ours on the lower UK with about 40 people. It was a good fit with the benches, tables, dessert tables, and bar.

sounds like you have the perfect amount for a party there. I will see if I can dig up some photos for you, we dont have any online at this point. We did ours early in the week as a special thank you to those that came down and enjoyed the entire week with us so if what we have will be from friends/faimly

if you use your 4th pic for reference from your previous post, the one looking from the entrance striaght to the back, thats where the desserts where. along the middle of that back wall. In the left back corner we had the drinks set up

yes let me see if we have pics, Ill get back to you all
