So after reading the book Kingdom Keepers i cant look at the rides the same way again. Has anyone else read this book? they sell it in Magic Kingdom and also i believe Downtown Disney. But im pretty sure you could get it on Amazon. This book was amazing and now Its a Small World dolls just seem even creepier...also Splash Mountain just seems more intimidateing... Also, anybody else want to go up to the top of the castle into the room they mentioned and slide down the slide into the moat? hmmmm great book. Go and check it out if you havent read it! :thumbsup2

Okay, I'll bite. What is so creepy about the Small World dolls and intimidating about the Splash Mountain characters? I always thought some of the SW kids were a little weird.

DD12 is almost done reading it. I bought it off Amazon a week or 2 ago. I think she's a little spooked by it, namely the things you mentioned. As soon as she finishes, I plan to read it. It is a very interesting premise.

now im not one to spoil a book  ...but lets just say that at night its a small world dolls just arent the same...and imagine haveing to swim threw splash mountain in the dark...or how about getting traspoted via hologram form into the magic kingdom then getting recruited on a mission to stop the overtakers...or how about buzz lightyear cannons becoming real laser cannons...great book deffinatly buy it to find out more :teeth:

I'd like to know too. And whats that about a slide in the castle??

I was afraid I would be that way too. I don't like scary things at all, and when I had read the Small World part I went to the person that told me to read it and said "If I'm scared of Small World when I go back I'm going to be furious!" (Small World is one of my favorites.) But luckily, it didn't. I actually thought about the book during Fantasmic with the dragon and Maleficent...and every time I see Maleficent now too. But other than that, it wasn't too bad.

I was going to buy it at Border's Sunday, but called our libraray and they put that one and Peter and the Star Chasers or whatever it's called on hold for me. I hate ISW so if it adds a twist all the better.

Well you all have intrigued me enough that I went to half.com and ordered the book. It sounds like it will make great reading while lounging poolside at the Wilderness Lodge in a little over 2 weeks!

Have a magical day,
Anna

It's a great book! I ordered it through my book club. It says it's for ages 12 and up. I think it was intended for kids, but I thought it was a really fun read.

I am a avid reader of children's books and I have read Kingdom Keepers and Peter and the Star Catchers. They are both awesome books and I highly recommend them to anyone!

DH and I both smiled like crazy the last time we rode IASW. Our faces were so sore by the time that we came to the end of the ride! The guy in the control booth saw us as the boat started off and as it returned to let us off. He must have read the book too since he started laughing when he saw us smiling like a couple of idiots!

I think that for Kingdom Keepers, a person really has to have been to WDW to be able to understand.

I asked Mykal in the MK Barber shop about the area over the fire station. There is obviously a room up there and there are stairs that go up the side of the building. He said that it is used for storage but, he had a bit of a twinkle in his eye when he said it so, I think he knows more than what he is letting on. In fact, I think he may be the guy who lives over the fire station!

If you all enjoy these books, I beg you to also read J.M.Barries original Peter Pan! There have been a hundred different versions of this classic story and the original is still the best. I will say that Peter and the Starcatchers surprised me in that it was really a good book.

Children's books are the best for the same reason that we all love Disney World, it allows us to be kids again!

Go Read a Children's Book!

I liked the book as well. My sister borrowed my copy. I can't wait for the conclusion. Any word on when that would be?

I also just orderd a copy from my kids book club. Never heard of it before but seems interesting.
