One of my dearest friends and I plan to take our two thirteen year old daughters for a girls four day weekend 10/16-10/19. Question #1 do you think the MNSSHP will be going on any of those days? Question #2 Are there any packages I should be looking for (former DC member (out as of 3/03) former AP but after 15 trips in the last 4 yrs, we've decided to tone it down abit and see the rest of the country (((I know, boo, hiss). Question # 3 my friend and her daughter have only been to WDW twice and both times stayed at "DXL". My dd and I would love to stay at AK (we visited this past Christmas and thought it was soooo cool, we were staying at YC and had stayed this past July at WL but this seemed so special). Do you think four women could love this resort? What room do we ask for (animals MUSt be seen from our verandah and the idea of a "sunrise safari" is wonderful. Please advise a veteran family traveler, but not a "girls only" traveler. Thanks

1) Based on previous years I would say it's safe to assume the MNSSHP will happen when you are there. We were there from 10/14 - 10/21 and it was scheduled on Thursday 10/17 and Sunday 10/20. You will LOVE it!!!!

2) Codes really won't come out for quite some time but we were fortunate and saved close to $1,000 as our trip came closer. Be sure to keep checking mousesavers.com. Probably will be out sometime in August ??? I think it has "officialy" expired but you might want to check to see if you can still renew your disney club. They will charge you a prorated amount from 3/03 - 12/03. The reason I say "officialy" is because they have gone past the "deadline" in the past. First it was 12/13, then 12/31 and then 1/31. Call, you may get lucky!!!!

3) The AKL is FABULOUS!!!!! You will love it. I would definitely book a savannah view room. Good places to request: 3rd or 4th floor, Zebra Trail overlooking the Arusha rock savannah. You can request these things when you book but be sure to send a fax request again 4 days before you get there. Also note that the outer rooms can be quite a hike from the lobby so you may want to request close to the lobby. Here is a map to give you an idea:
