~i'll be home for Xmas but 1st i'm going to DISNEY WORLD!~ TR link posted!

Eli's face is screaming his anger. :lmao:
Congrats on the princess!

thanks! yeah, he wasn't too pleased that day.

Yay for your new niece! It'll be so much fun to shop for a baby girl at Disney World!

I recognize that look that Eli is giving you...it's the same look my dogs give me every time they have to have baths. I don't know why they hate it so much!

tell me about it! i was eyeing some baby stuff back in september but i didn't know what sex the baby was so i didn't buy anything.

eli just hates anything out of the ordinary. it's funny - he'll go roll in the mud and won't come out of the rain. a nice warm bath has to feel better than that!

ELI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is priceless!!!

 he didn't think so!

A new little sweetheart to add to your family - that's great! She doesn't know yet how lucky she is to have such a fun Aunt Dawn that will spoil her at every turn. We'll have to meet up occasionally on your Nashville trips and let all these little princesses play together

It's good to hear that all is well with mother and baby. Even the slightest scare with a little baby is a big thing.

oh, very good idea! yeah, i think jill's baby is due like a month before brett's. i was in walmart today and i already started looking in the baby section at clothes! that kid is gonna have so much stuff between her two aunts!

oh, and i have to add - i'm totally jealous you're at WDW right now. i'm imaging i'm there with you! i'm thinking you guys are probably back at ASMu getting ready for thanksgiving with mickey tomorrow!

Congrats on the niece!! Any names picked out yet?

I fell down on the ice when I was 7 months pregnant..not fun!! Glad she is ok!! :goodvibes

wow...7 months? that's scary! glad you were okay too.

Poor Eli!!

My dogs hate baths too........the worst part to them is the hairdryer after.;)

Congrats on the new niece!! I love being an aunt!

we don't blow dry eli because he would FREAK out. he HATES my hair dryer (it's in the same category as the vaccum i think). so there's no way he'd let us get near him with that thing!

i'm really looking forward to being an aunt too! although i technically already am. i have two stepbrothers (my stepdad's kids) who have kids and of course i love them. but i'm really close to my half-brother and half-sister (we have the same dad but i have a different mom) and this is my half-brother's baby, the first for the three of us. so i'm really excited about it! i also have two second cousins that i consider nieces because their dad is my cousin and we grew up together, so we're like brother and sister. but they live in brazil (he's a missionary) so i don't get to see them a lot. well, now that you know my family history, your life is complete. :lmao:

A new princess: to love and spoil! You'll be a great aunt!

Poor Eli! I know I have seen those same looks at my house! :rotfl: Both my dogs hate taking baths too!

thanks! i hope so. i'm really excited about it! she will definitely be spoiled. eli hates baths but at least he smells good now! for a little while anyway.

Yay! A little princess: to shop for! I love shopping for my granddaughter at Disney! You will have so much trouble not getting on of everything!:cutie:

Eli looks so disgusted! :rotfl2:

yeah, i'm hoping to limit my spending a least a little bit. we'll see!

Congrats on the baby princess: How FUN!! I'm glad she's ok and I hope they are doing well :goodvibes

i already talked to you about this so i'm just gonna say no comment. you know how i feel about "baby mama". :rolleyes1 but of course i'm glad she's okay. she's carrying my niece.

Is that hair on the wall :lmao:

yes, although that's not the wall but the side of the bath tub. :rotfl:

He hates you b/c you are taking pictures of his torture!! :rotfl2:

exactly. but i think he's used to it.

I hate this part too.....most of the time I wish I had one of those 'blow-dry box' things that the groomers have. So I could just stick them in there and leave 'em

see what i said above to winkers about this. i wish i could blow dry eli but there's no way!

Love your update calendar!!! Wish I were going in 16 days!!!!
6.gif

you will be there with me in spirit!

Our doggy hates the bath too. He had to have one on Saturday because we took our family Christmas picture. He's a terrier, and DH always go off about how he looks like a drowned rat when he's wet. He does the run around the house like a crazy dog thing too when he gets out . He was especially mad the other day because I put rose and jasmine scented doggy perfume on him :rotfl: .

rose and jasmine doggy perfume? i gotta get me some of that! :rotfl2:

Ooooh, I love me some Manning boys!!! I was a huge UT fan in high school (even though all my friends were UGA or GT fans) so when our basketball coach would take us to the women basketball games, we always went when UGA played UT! I was the only one sitting behind the UT ladies!! But, they always won!
My SIL loves Peyton and is a huge Peyton fan. But, I think Eli is cuter!!:lmao:

Aww congrats on the sweet little niece princess: !! I just know you will find some cute stuff in Disney for her!

Awww, sweet Eli!!! His little face is priceless!! I want to just pick him up and cuddle him!!

And I love, love, LOVE, the countdown calendar!!

oh, ray LOVES the lady vols! they always seem to do well. i wonder if it has anything to do with their coach? :rolleyes1 eli would love for you to pick him up and cuddle him. he's SUCH a cuddle bug. ask erica - you touch him once and he just sits there and looks at you and "paws" at you - he loves to be petted!

Ok so I think it's settled and we can all agree we like Eli better then Peyton

That is a funny Eli (the dog) story...but probably not so funny when you saw him on your couch. And probably not so funny when he was getting the bath that he obviously hates :lmao: My dog is so tiny that she gets a bath in the kitchen sink lol

btw, I just showed my BF the pic of your countdown and asked him if I should make one...I got a weird look and he said "Kristen we don't go for 5 months, do you know how big it would be if you started now?" Woops, I got a little carried away there looking at how close your trip is and getting excited! :yay: :goodvibes

agreed (about eli). ray was just commenting on how it might be a manning vs. manning super bowl. we'll see! i read your comment about your BF to anna (we were on the phone while i was checking the dis) and we were both laughing at you! :rotfl:

CONGRATS ON BECOMING AN AUNTIE!!!

You can get lots of sweet things for your little princess on your trip. princess: It will probably be hard trying to decide on what to get. :cloud9:

Oh, I remember that dreaded red clay...what a nightmare to get out of clothes. My DS loved to play in it and when my husband played softball, it got on everything. So glad we have plain dirt here. ;)
Eli sure doesn't look happy, and I'm sure he would be more upset to know he was put on the DIS for all of us to see. :rotfl2:

I have cats so I can relate to finding lots of hair everywhere.
They seem to love laying on clean laundry. :headache:

thanks!!! :goodvibes i hope i don't max out my credit card buying stuff for her. the red clay doesn't bug me much now but when we first moved into our house it was AWFUL! we had a brand new house and were trying to get grass to grow and it rained for like a month straight and therefore we had a red river in our back yard the whole time. awful! by dogs love WARM clean laundry. i usually fold clothes on the bed and they like to get up there and lay on them when i'm not looking.

Congrats on the niece!

Your dog is sooo cute! I love his face! My dog also absolutely hates baths and he will just stand petrified in the sink as we wash him but then as soon as we pick him up and wrap him in a towel to dry him he starts growling :rotfl:

thanks! that's so funny that he growls at you when you're drying him! eli doesn't growl - he's just miserable. poor doggies!

Congrats on being an aunt soon -- will you be buying cute little girl Disney clothes in a couple of weeks? :goodvibes

Eli's looks are cracking me up! Poor puppy with his tortuous bath time! :rotfl:

oh, of course! i'm sure you'll see pictures of what i buy. ;) eli is just milking the dis for all its worth. :lmao:

:lmao:

You can borrow my ShopVac for the couch if you want. :rotfl2:

thanks! it actually wasn't that bad - just a few pieces of grass here and there. it was mostly stuck to him!

Congrats on the niece. I love my boys but DD3 is such fun to buy for. I can't wait to go to Disney and buy her all princess things.

OMG I bought this years ago at the Christmas store in DTD for $50.

Love the pictures of Luke while you were babysitting, love the goggles in the tube.

thanks! i can't wait to spoil her rotten! $50? wow! glad i got a good deal! luke is one crazy kid!

Congrats on your niece! That is so awesome!

thanks so much!

She is cute! She will be so spoiled, and who knows you may have a little cousin or two for her to play with in the next few years. ;)

who knows???? with state budget cuts and the economy the way it is right now, don't count on it. but you never know!

i just wanted to wish everyone.....

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

disney-thanksgiving.jpg

i hope you all are with your loved ones tomorrow and have a nice, relaxing day stuffing yourselves with turkey and enjoying your family and/or friends....and being thankful! :grouphug:

and for those of you who don't live in america, we love you too! ;)

we will be heading over to ray's mom's house around lunchtime tomorrow. she lives about 15 minutes from here. she's an amazing cook so i expect to gain at least 5 pounds tomorrow. :) i'm in charge of the green bean casserole - i think i can handle that!

and keep the people in india affected by the terrorist attacks in your prayers. i just saw the news and learned of the horrifying situation over there right now. it's all so confusing to me and i will never understand that way of thinking, but i will keep praying for those that suffer from terrorism and those who continue to believe in it.

I've started stuffing my face today......I'm starving myself tomorrow until dinner.....

Have a great day!!!!!!!

And yes, we need to think of those in India....thanks for the reminder....:grouphug:

Happy Thanksgiving, Dawn!

I am in charge of the green bean casserole, too! That and the pecan pie. I suspect my family puts me in charge of the things that can't be messed up. :rotfl:

Dawn! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am thankful for family and friends, and my DIS friends - as well as living in a free country where we can be reasonably safe and happy! Thanks for the reminder about the folks in India - what a tragedy! :sad2:

yeah, i've gained a few pounds over the past couple of weeks and the food today isn't gonna help! but i've been eating really well the last few days and plan to do the same for the rest of the month.....until christmas. the holidays always wreak havoc on my hips! :rotfl:

Happy Thanksgiving, Dawn!

I am in charge of the green bean casserole, too! That and the pecan pie. I suspect my family puts me in charge of the things that can't be messed up. :rotfl:

thanks! i'm a mediocre cook but for some reason ray's mom loves my green bean casserole. it's so easy - i don't know why she can't make it herself, but she says hers aren't as good. maybe she's just trying to make me feel better.

thanks! i know - that whole situation is horrible. i haven't turned on the TV yet this morning so i don't know what the status is right now. last night it looked awful.

I've never had green bean casserole or pecan pie...........

:scared1: oh, the horror!!!!! you must try green bean casserole. it's yummy!

this recipe serves about 4, so you'd want to double it for your crew.

ingredients:
1 10-oz. can Campbell's cream of mushroom soup
3/4 cup of milk
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/3 cups french fried onions (i get the French's brand)
2 14.5-oz. cans green beans, drained

~preheat oven to 350 degrees.
~mix soup and milk, then add pepper, beans and 2/3 cup of onions in 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
~bake for 30 minutes or until hot.
~stir.
~top with remaining onions.
~bake 5 minutes.

i usually add more onions than the recipe calls for because i love them!

i've never made pecan pie but I LOVE IT!!!! i'll let jackie tell you how to make that if she wants to. you must try it too.

Happy Thanksgiving Dawn!:goodvibes

thanks!!! hope you guys have lots of good food and ty enjoys his first thanksgiving!

My MIL says the same thing. She even emailed me this week to ask me to make more of it so she could snag some as leftovers!

i've never made pecan pie but I LOVE IT!!!! i'll let jackie tell you how to make that if she wants to. you must try it too.

Here's the recipe I use from Karo Syrup. It's also super easy!

Classic Pecan Pie

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 55 to 60 minutes
Chill Time: 2 hours
Yield: 8 servings

1 cup Karo® Light OR Dark Corn Syrup
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
1-1/2 cups (6 ounces) pecans
1 (9-inch) unbaked or frozen** deep-dish pie crust
Preheat oven to 350°F.

Mix corn syrup, eggs, sugar, butter and vanilla using a spoon. Stir in pecans. Pour filling into pie crust.

Bake on center rack of oven for 55 to 60 minutes. Cool for 2 hours on wire rack before serving.

**To use prepared frozen pie crust: Place cookie sheet in oven and preheat oven as directed. Pour filling into frozen crust and bake on preheated cookie sheet.

RECIPE TIPS: Pie is done when center reaches 200°F. Tap center surface of pie lightly - it should spring back when done. For easy clean up, spray pie pan with cooking spray before placing pie crust in pan. If pie crust is overbrowning, cover edges with foil.

NUTRITION TIP: To reduce calories, substitute new Karo® Lite Syrup for the Karo® Light or Dark Corn Syrup.

High Altitude Adjustments: Reduce sugar to 2/3 cup and increase butter to 3 tablespoons. Reduce oven temperature to 325°F.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU!

I hope you enjoy your turkey dinner and pecan pie, I love pecan pie. :lovestruc Thanks for including us Canadians in your day.

Have a great day of shopping tomorrow, I hope you don't run out of money...;)

My MIL says the same thing. She even emailed me this week to ask me to make more of it so she could snag some as leftovers!

we had lots of leftovers but i only brought 1 plate home with me. i didn't want to have too much tempting things sitting in my fridge this weekend!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU!

I hope you enjoy your turkey dinner and pecan pie, I love pecan pie. :lovestruc Thanks for including us Canadians in your day.

Have a great day of shopping tomorrow, I hope you don't run out of money...;)

thanks! oh, and i'm NOT shopping tomorrow! i'm almost done with my christmas shopping - just a few things left to buy and none of those involve me going to a mall. i refuse to go shopping on black friday. people are crazy and i have a tendency to lose my temper with people when they're rude. so i just choose to avoid the situation! i also have another holiday rule: dawn does not set foot in a mall between thanksgiving and christmas! i just refuse to do it. so i get my shopping done beforehand. i'd rather spend my holidays relaxing and being around friends and family rather than dealing with psycho people in a mall! i made the mistake of going to the mall of georgia a few years ago this time of year and it took me AN HOUR-AND-A-HALF to drive literally from one side of the mall to the other. it was ridiculous.

well, we had an exciting thanksgiving. we got to ray's mom's house around 1:00. ray's stepdad's brother and his wife were there, which we knew they were gonna be there. but then ray's mom told us that ray's stepdad's father was there too, and we hadn't expected to see him. i've only met him once and that was when i was like 19, so i don't really know him very well at all. anyway, they said he had gone for a walk a few minute before we got there. about 10 minutes later ray's stepdad's brother decided to go check on him and he called ray's stepdad about 2 minutes later saying that their dad had fallen and he needed help. i was parked in the back of the driveway, so i grabbed my keys while ray's stepdad and his mom ran up the road to see what was going on. i knew they'd probably need a car to get him back to the house. i saw that they were getting him up and i decided to just drive on up there so i could take him back to the house myself. when i got there i asked if they wanted to put him in my car and ray's stepdad said, "i can't....he's covered in blood." i looked at his face and it was awful! the poor thing - he's like 85 and i just felt so bad for him. i asked what i could do and they said they needed some towels. so i left the car running and RAN back to the house to get towels, RAN back up there and then they said they needed a wet towel. so i RAN back to the house and wet one of the towels, then RAN back up there again. whew! they finally walked him back to the house and got him in their car and took him to the hospital. i went inside, out of breath, and went to tell ray what had happened (he'd been in the back yard with the dogs the whole time) and then i realized MY CAR'S STILL DOWN THE ROAD AND IT'S RUNNING!!!! so i RUN back up to the car and drive back to the house. luckily, it was still there. the car, not the house. :rotfl:

unfortunately, mr. whitaker (the guy who fell) had to get stitches above his nose and he broke his wrist. :guilty: i feel so awful for him!!! what a horrible way to spend a thanksgiving. and what's so bad is this is the first time he's visited ray's stepdad since they moved here in 1996. :sad2:

the only positive thing is that i did so much running that i don't feel bad for eating all that turkey. :rotfl:

hope you guys had a much more relaxing thanksgiving than i did!!!

oh, one more thing. i was cleaning my house tonight - like REALLY cleaning it (because my mom and grandparents are coming to town tomorrow) - and as i was mopping my kitchen floor i realized that the next time i'll be doing this will probably be right before we leave for disney because i always have to clean my house before i leave. that's so awesome!!!!! :woohoo:

Well, it sounds like you guys had some added stress for Thanksgiving. My grandpa is about 85 and has had some similar incidents. Lately, he's been working on his Christmas lights, and we've been scared to death that he's going to try to climb up on the roof himself or something (he won't let anyone help him). It doesn't help matters any that he thinks the entire town should be lit up by HIS christmas lights. If you've ever seen, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, it's pretty much like that :rotfl: . In fact, we were all joking about it last night because he has duct tape to hold all of his plugs into the surge protector!

I need to clean too, but I just can't seem to get myself motivated. I'm going to have to pretty soon though because DD #1's birthday is coming up, and we'll have people over for her party.

I know how you feel. My grandma fell on thanksgiving day years ago and hit her head. She was ok, but had a big egg on her forehead for a couple of days. :sad2: We just celebrated her 90th birthday two days before thanksgiving. :woohoo:

Yikes!! I'm glad he's ok!

I must admit, when you were telling about all the running, I thought at least she won't feel guilty for eating all the goodies!

We had a downer of an Easter a few years ago.......my Grandma fell and broke her foot OFF, literally...It broke off!

Kinda put a damper on the leg of lamb.;)

Hello!!!

(I'll have to read back) but I noticed that you are going in 12 days, and I am going in 11 (well 12 really but still...). I hope you have a lovely time!!

Aww, what a sad thing to happen to him. He must have fallen. I'm glad someone found him and you were able to get him treatment. I'm glad your car was still there, that could have been disasterous.

I had no idea about your no mall shopping rule. I completely understand why you would avoid it, I'm an early shopper too. I work in retail and I don't have a choice but to deal with cranky, tired, rude (sometimes) people. I'd much rather be around the people who have a jolly holiday spirit. ;)
