Disney visa charges for cruises, mixed results on 6 months no interest financing

Okay so I just called and added shipboard credit to my upcoming sailing. Our credit card closing date is 8/12 so I’ll update after then if it goes through with the 6 month 0% financing.

I won’t know for certain till my statement cuts and I see that it is offered the 6 month 0% financing, but the charge did just post to my account and it is showing as “DCL Reservation” with category “Travel.” This is the same as my DCL final payment.

When I purchased online, it came through as “DCL Reservation” with category “Florist,” which is why it was ineligible.

Fingers crossed that this means calling in still gets the 0% financing.

Can confirm! Calling in resulted in my OBC being coded as eligible for the 6 month 0% financing. Just got my statement and it’s listed for the promo. Thank you for the tip!

Just did this end of August for our 8/30 treasure sailing and ours did not qualify for the 0% financing for 6 months. Prepaid gratuities were added at the same time and those did qualify but sadly our onboard credit didn’t.

This is insane, no way to determine if it will be counted or not. Such a pain.

I wonder if it’s possible to pre-pay more than the standard amount for onboard gratuities (that is, combine the amount you want to spend for gratuities and onboard credit) and have it be considered part of the cruise package and eligible for the 0% financing. Prepaid gratuities just go onto the onboard account, and I am not sure if they are matched up to cast members before the gratuities forms are distributed to guests.
