-- Can you still made advance dining reservations?

-- Can you charge your meals (and souvies, etc) to the room?

-- Can you charge your meal to the room and pay cash for the tip?

-- Do under 3's still eat free at the buffets?

Are there any major disadvantages to NOT having the meal plan? We'll have a 2 yr old and 3 yr old with us when we travel, if that makes any difference.

Thanks, in advance!!

Yes!

Yes!

The advantage is a possible savings (depends on your situation, some save more then others, some report no savings at all). And having it prepaid. My DH will not go to Disney without it, he likes to eat whatever without looking at the price tag (we are normally on a budget and can't do this, he enjoys this part of vacation), me, I can eat a kids meal and a snack from my bag and be ok. It depends.

We are not on the DP and yes, we made our ADR's. Have charged non DP meals to the room. And have charged meal and paid tip in cash, as well. Just not sure about the under 3 rule. As far as any disadvantages, that is based on what you guys would most likely eat. Like me and DD11 are going and since I have to pay the adult price for her and she is a small eater, it is not worth it for us. ::yes::

I did the math and for us it's always cheaper on the DDP. But they didn't have the ddp when my boys were that little. I would still probably get it.

Like all the others said, yes. I have never done the dining plan, but I know it would not save us any money, so we don't bother. We are light eaters and don't ever order drinks (not even sodas). We also often split meals and desserts. We got all the ADRs we wanted last time and we didn't have to worry about points or anything- just easy. We also bring our own snacks and eat breakfast in our room. It worked out well and we had lots of great meals!

Actually I would strongly recommend making dining reservations a couple years ago I though I would go down and pretty much eat anywhere at a reasonable time( we had a to year old boy was I wrong). The following year i learned and made reservations.
