If you use Dreams Unlimited do they worry for you?

What I mean is...Do they figure out when the changes suddenly come out like free dining, and if rates go down, and maybe if it works out cheaper to spend a couple of extra bucks and upgrade to a moderate from a value??

If they do all of this it would save me headaches, and anxiety, but would I get the best deals? Anyone use them and have them surprise you? I used to use a travel agent from our local area, but found by utilizing sites like this I did better on my own.

I've used DU several times. They have been terrific. But, you have to tell them where you want to stay. If you say that you want to be at POR they will get that for you at the best rate available to you. But, if a great deal comes up for, say, WL, they won't change your reservation to WL from POR. Now, I have booked a stay at POR. A great rate came out and I wanted to move to WL....I emailed my DU agent and she made the change for me. Well, then the FairyTale Pkg back in '03 came out and I switched yet again to the Polynesian. My poor agent. But, if I have an AP, she gets me the best rate possible...also has done a good job getting those ADRs for me.

It all depends on what your expectations are.

Can you tell them to book say the pop century, but to keep an eye out for AKL? Has anyone tried this approach?

I bet they would do that for you. I haven't used them but the majority of the things I hear about them is very positive (and you can't please all of the people, all of the time, right?) so I bet they would do that. I am using Magical Memories Travel for our next 2 trips and I know my agent did ask if I had an "upgrade wish" for anything. I told her if I could get XYZ resort for $XXX, then to go ahead and switch us without calling to ask first, if it was more than $XXX but less than $YYY then please contact me to ask about it. She was fine with that. I'm sure Dreams would likely do the same.
