If you purchased a Leappad for Christmas...

Make sure you put batteries in your Leappads and connect them to a computer to set them up prior to Christmas. My kids got the Fisher Price iXLs last year from my mom and trying to connect to the overloaded server on Christmas and the few days after was anything but fun.

If you set it up before 12/15/11, you get a free Alphabet Stew app by entering the code 5813-2648-3927-5027 into your account. Leappad is offering this incentive for setting it up early to try to prevent the overloaded server issue come Christmas day. This is only good until 12/15/11.

I downloaded it to the new leappad...do you have any idea if/how to put it onto my older DD's exploreer as well? I'm wondering if it won't work because it is a freebie? I thought you could share apps between the two devices?

We have two Leap Pads and all I had to do was switch over to the opposite one and check mark the box for the apps that were on the other. Two devices, one account.

And I agree set up beforehand. It took me a couple hours to do my kids. You have to do the initial set up, then updates then sync apps etc.

Quick question about this...

Should the Leappad be installed on the home computer, or can it be any computer?

The reason I ask is, my mom is getting each of my nieces one, and the family will all be in town for Christmas. To get these ready ahead of time, I'd need to help my mom set it up using her computer... but then when my brothers/sil's go home, they'll be using their respective computers to do any other purchases/updates/etc for their daughters.

Will this cause a problem? Does it actually set up the leappad on the computer, or is it online that it could be accessed from any computer then?

Their account will be set up online. They would need to install Leapfrog connecton each computer, but the info will be tied to the parent email account that was used yo set it up. It can be accessed from any computer.

My Mom bought 2 $20 app cards from walmart for kids where do yu get the special card? I have 2 leappads boy and girl and I would love to get them loaded with a movie or 2 plus books and apps l
