Here's my dilemma.....

I just got back from the BEST vacation/birthday trip in the entire universe last friday (aug. 20) I spent 9 glorious days at WDW and even survived Hurricane Charley. Before this trip I haven't been to the world since summer of 2000. I almost cried when I had to go.

So I wanted to plan a very short trip, that I can use what is remaining on my park hopper pass.......What would you do if you only had one day at disney at off-season.

Be reminded that this will probably be my last trip for about 3 years:( :( :( Probably not heading back until fall of 2007.:( :(

I cannot even fathom how you must feel to only have one day at WDW.
It is great you get to go again. Why don't you try to go to MNSVSHP? That would be something new to experience!

I would spend the whole day at MK just soaking it all in. Only because the MK is my favorite park and the most nastalgic for me.

I would only want to spend the day at one park instead of trying to park hop because you can spend a lot of time traveling between them.

Have fun! :wave2:

I would spend the day in MK and the night in Epcot's WS.

Personally, I would do something that would extend the time like MNSSHP or MVMCP. You could get the ticket to that for like $35 and then spend the entire next day at Epcot. You get admission to the park on the day of the party from 4 PM - 12 AM so that is practically a full day and then you can use your PH to get into Epcot. Voila! Two days admission for $35. All you would have to pay extra would be a hotel room for a night.

I see that you have stayed at Swan/dolphin in the past. If that is the case on your next trip, you might want to split your visit between MGM and Epcot just to make the best use of time.

If you have kids or MK is your favorite park, try to go there on an EE day or make a PS for 8:05. Later in the day, you can monorail over to Epcot.

I would go in early Dec. and maybe do the MVMCP you would have to purchase a separate ticket for that and it is so Magical! You could enter the MK at 4pm on that ticket, then use your park hopper for another park on another day while down. I would suggest EPCOT. If you planned your trip for one of the first 2 weeks of Dec. the parks are not crowded and the decorations alone are worth the trip. Also if you had time you could resort hop to check out their decorations and perhaps a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare at the GF. The gingerbread house in their lobby is beautiful.

I did a whirl wind tour of Disney last December. I started at MGM and did TOT, RR, and Muppets(Waiting for TOT to be fixed). Took the Boat to the Internation Gateway at Epcot (ate and the BW along the way and Toured the Resort) and rode TT and MS. Took the Monorail to MK and Rode BTMR, SM, and several other rides, saw the afternoon parade, spectromagic, and wishes. Three Themeparks and most all of my favorites at each. Also, by taking the boat and monorail and visiting other resorts even the transportation between parks was fun. I am planning to try this again my last day in September this year in reverse ending with Fantasmic (without MS this time will ride it some other time towards the end of the day) but the heat may slow my down.

This is exactly what I did once, when I was fortunate enough to have just one day at Disney. It was my first solo trip-surprise from my family. I left after work Friday, spent Saturday "soaking up MK", and flew back home on Sunday.

Dw & I are taking a short trip in February to tide us over until our Disney Cruise in '06. We plan to spend a lot of time in World Showcase. We always seem to neglect that area during the summer. Plus, the kids don't share our enthusiasm of WS.

We plan on spending our first day in the parks & the rest of the week taking breaks in the afternoon. Are any of the parks a better choice for staying out of the heat?:sunny:

Well...MGM has almost all it's attractions indoors. Which means out of the sun and into the AC or cool shade.
Animal Kingdom has lots of shade all around but a lot of outdoor attractions.
Epcot is another with indoor attractions except for walking around. There is a lot of walking to be had here.
And Magic Kingdom...Total sun in my opinion. Indoor attractions yes, but a lot of walking as well. Or you could always "train it" as we often do.

EPCOT - I had one free day in March since I was there for a conference. I took my time and truly enjoyed EPCOT.

For me I see a much larger dilemna than just having one day to take things in. I COULDN'T go three years without another visit. I'm trying to figure out what kind of a nervous wreck I would be. I would have to check into Betty Ford. I would slap a funny faced smile next to that comment to show my humor in it. Except for the fact that I am not kidding at all.

Well getting back to your dilemna. I would look at every rumor board out there and see what is a legitimate possibility for a permanent close (i.e. Spaceship Earth) and make sure I road each and every one even if I had to visit all four parks in a day. Or you could just visit all four parks just to say you did.

Whatever the case here's hoping it is the best day you can have until you can touch foot on that beautiful soil again.

ee for ak safari and what ever would fit in a morning, in the afternoon a brief stop at mgm for tot and rnr then jump over to mk for philharmagic , peter pan & pirates and cap it off by taking the mono to epcot for dinner ( le cellier ) and france for a pastry while watching illuminations..imo the best of the world!

we didn't get to go back for 7 years once so you "will" live:) !
