if you like Animal Kingdom is Seaworld worth doing?

Another vote for Sea World-our 7 year old DS actually cried last fall when we had to leave Shamu--he loves Sea World more than all 4 Disney parks combined. Doing all 5 or 6 shows and browsing the exhibits is just about a full day. The stingray pool is nice and you can reachin and pet them as they swim by.

Southwest airlines repid rewards cards are good for 20% off, leaving admission just under $50.00 for adults. Well worth it in my opinion.

wow glad everyone loves SW. DD loves dolphins she will be just shy of 11 on our next trip in June and has been begging to go to SW. We could not go last year because her sister was just turning 2 and I thought it would be too much. So I promised her next trip. Well I just wasn't sure we would enjoy it in the middle of a Disney trip - I was afraid we would be disappointed.

From what you guys have said it sounds like we are gonna love it. Woo Hoo. I have decided to buy the tickets early (they are cheaper anyways bought in advance) and my girls are getting them for easter with a new set of luggage for each of them. :Pinkbounc

There is a LYNX bus (Orlando metro bus service) that goes from the Ticket and Transportation Center to SeaWorld, no transfers or anything. Cost is $1.50 per person each way. The bus leaves the TTC every 30 minutes and it takes about 20-25 minutes to get to SeaWorld. You can find more info at the LYNX website www.golynx.com. Its the #50 bus that you're looking for. Also, be sure to check out the SeaWorld forum here on the DIS, there's been some past threads on getting the SW from WDW.

I thought about doing the Lynx bus, but then thought maybe we would just pay the money for Mears, $15/person. Is Lynx easy enough that we would be crazy to spend the extra money on Mears?

Thanks!!!

To the OP, we loved SW. The shows and animals are amazing! We can't wait to go back!

if you enjoyed SW in CA, go! SW is wonderful, and nothing like AK. If youre a thrill seeker (or have one in your fam) they have a couple of wild ones for you :thumbsup2

Check out the cost of a cab. With 5 of us, we often find that the cost of a cab is less than shuttles. Mears also runs alot of the cabs that you see around the parks and at the airport. You can get a van for the same price as a 4-door sedan.

We liked Sea World... we did one of those VIP tours because we didn't have a lot of time and wanted to do as much as possible.

The rides were fun and we got to meet a penguin handler and touch a penguin (awwww) :teeth:

SeaWorld ROCKS! :thumbsup2 It is a MUST do each time we go. Once we skipped it, and my kids were NOT pleased! We loved the second day free deal (not sure if it is still available) and there are so many shows that you really can spend 2 days there. We hang by the Dolphin pool for at least an hour each time. It is an easy park to manage and love going thru the shark tunnel...over and over again! The only grumble we have is the food choices seem kind of limited at some of the places...like the same choices at 4 different reataurants...but a minor grumble it is. You can easily have a cooler in the car and go back out for a picnic and save some $$$$ and there is a Wendys right nearby as well. The Journey to Atlantis ride is cool...but yo WILL get soaked...bring a change of clothes (they have lockers) and Kraken is awesome...pretty intense in my book...more so than Hulk for sure...park is clean and beautiful...ground are so lush. You will be able to take many beautiful photos. DH propsed to me on BTMRR at MK, and we were going to SW the next day..back then you had divers for pearls at the park, and we were lucky enough to have a beautiful pearl in ours...had it set as my engagement ring for a while...so SW and WDW are VERY special to us. OH, also...you can get a free beer or 2 at the Anhueser (sp?) Busch exhibit, and they have pretty good food there as well. Always a great spot to stop and relax! Allow enough time for THAT freebie!

FINFAN, do they still have that little show with the cats, dogs, skunks, geese.. etc...?

That was hilarious!

We have 3.4 yr old twins and go to Orlando twice a year. We plan at least 2 trips to SeaWorld per visit. The kids LOVE it! The new dolphin show (Blue Horizons) is unbelievable. Pets Ahoy is very funny. One thing that no one has mentioned is the playground area. There are interactive water areas, and a big sandbox, and one of those enclosed inflated jumping areas (don't know the official name for them). Our kids would spend all day there! And there are picnic tables and shaded places for parents to sit and relax. Penguin encounter keeps my DD happy for a week. My DS is a big pirate fan so he's happy seeing Ships Ahoy.

We also go to AK one day. We like that, too. Sea World is just a more relaxing experience.
