if you like Animal Kingdom is Seaworld worth doing?

I would go to Seaworld over AK .

Totally agree. AK is years behind SW.

You are travelling a long way, so make the most of it. Sea World is a great place. More relaxing than other attractions. Hand feeding the dolphins is a highlight.

I'm there in just under 5 weeks :teeth:

We always go to SW and Ak. The parks are toally different each offering unique experiences and SW has fantastic roller coasters.

How about this for a reason to go

Thanksgiving Birth at SeaWorld Orlando
Takara the killer whale swims with her newborn calf after giving birth on Thanksgiving eve. The baby was born Wednesday, November 23 at 10:22 p.m. in SeaWorld Orlando’s Shamu Stadium. The new calf weighs 350 pounds and is seven feet long.

I am looking forward to seeing the baby.

I can help you with that :) We were there the day before and the Friday after Takara delivered!

My son thinks Orlando is just for going to Sea World. He's truly a junkie who gets his fix once a year. Actually twice a year. One of the really nice things about Sea World is that they give you a free day to come back. There's a line to the left of the entrance gate and they take your picture and issue a new ticket to use within 7 days. This is really nice if you are traveling with a young child or junkie, lol.

You can also feed the sea lions...they will bark for their food its so cute!

And don't forget about the free beer at the hospitality center. And IMO the hospitality center is the best counter service. Their stew is pretty tasty and its served in a bread bowl.

This is DD after eating the stew.

SEAWORLD is AWESOME. A definite must do. Also, you can actually spend an entire day at Seaworld eploring, riding, watching the shows, etc. I'd have to say, IMO, Animal Kingdom is definitely not a whole day park.

Sea World is very nice! I think it's totally different than Animal Kingdom. We had a very nice time at Sea World when we visited a couple years ago.

Sea World is definately worth a visit. It had been about 10 years since I last visited Sea World, and I was so glad I chose to go back this year. The park has been totally renovated and made even better than before. DH, DS, DM and I loved Krakken and Atlantis. Make sure you have a poncho for Atlantis. You get SOAKED!!!! We loved the shows and getting to see the donkey and horses from the Budweiser commercials. The park is not as crowed as Disney parks so it offers visitors a slower pace. I think Sea World is a special park, and should definately be visited at least once in a lifetime.

We LOVE going to Sea World. We have Busch Gardens Williamsburg Platinum passes, so they get us into Sea World as well, so we go every year during our trip to FL.

I enjoy going to feed the dolphins, but far more entertaining and less crowded is going to feed the sea lions. They are so fun to watch and they will be very vocal when they see that you have a tray of fish. Plus the Clyde and Seamore show is very funny, our favorite show at the park.

thanks for all your opinions - i will try my best to get to this park!

Oh cool so you can feed the dolphins?! I want to do that! But not sure if we can get there for 9:15. I'll have to find the schedule somewhere...

there are feeding times throughout the day. just make you get there in advance, because the line for the fish gets long. there's also a stingray lagoon right there where you can pet and feed the rays.

Sea World is a must! You must eat at "Sharks!". Skip Atlantis it's wet; to the point that I went into the men's bathroom, stripped and rung out everything I was wearing. Not fun and not a very exciting ride. Splash Mtn's a million times better and dryer. Skip the night show as well if your kids are older than 5. My daughter loved it at 5, she cried so I cried. At 7 she was bored and wanted to leave.

Just wanted to say that I am pretty sure if you sit in the back of the boat you will be fine. When I took my daughter on last year, the person operating the ride said to sit in the back if you dont want to get wet. We did and we were fine.

As for getting wet on Atlantis - both times we went (and numerous rides each time) we got soaked! We actually brought a change of clothes/shoes and left them in the locker. Rode to our hearts content then changed!

This is a great park but you really need to plan your day around shows

SW is $61.95 for adults, $49.95 for kids. they do give you an extra day for free to use within 7 days, you process it the parks.

you'd have to arange for a taxi or shuttle like Mears to get you to SW. if you're staying on WDW property, they want to keep you there. :)

If you're a CAA/AAA member, you can get them discounted there. I paid $64 for mine at CAA (so Canadian funds). Saves a bit, but it's nice knowing the tickets are paid for...

There is a LYNX bus (Orlando metro bus service) that goes from the Ticket and Transportation Center to SeaWorld, no transfers or anything. Cost is $1.50 per person each way. The bus leaves the TTC every 30 minutes and it takes about 20-25 minutes to get to SeaWorld. You can find more info at the LYNX website www.golynx.com. Its the #50 bus that you're looking for. Also, be sure to check out the SeaWorld forum here on the DIS, there's been some past threads on getting the SW from WDW.

Not sure if this is still the same, but last June we used our AAA member card at the gate and got $5 off each ticket (there were 3 of us). So, if you have a membership, don't forget to show that card when purchasing tickets at the gate (if you choose to do so).

Right now, the price of a one day admission ($61) is the same as a fun card, which is good for admission through the end of 2006. I did it last year and it worked out great! I used it 2 or 3 times and it was completly worth it.
