I know that they are two different parks but if you go to animal kingdom and the other disney parks - do you go to seaworld?

i am in two minds about going to seaworld. I have been to the san diego seaworld but that was back in 1998.

opinions please?

(hopefully i am going in four weeks time and i have only just started planning - hence all these questions on the board!)

My kids absolutely loved Sea World! The shows were great and they loved Atlantis and Krakken. They still talk about petting and feeding the dolphins! The park is clean and the food is just fine! We thought is was definitely worth it! Have a great trip!

Sea World is definitely worth a visit. My kids all love this place.
I would highly recomend it

We love Sea World, but haven't been in a few years and and plan to visit there again this summer.

It's a different experience, of course, from the Animal Kingdom -- it's like comparing fish and fowl :lmao:

Seriously: SW is very show-oriented. There's a dolphin show, and the Shamu show, and probably a few others that I'm not aware of, and it's more geared toward having some interaction with the animals. (You can feed and pet the dolphins, for example.) There are also a handful of rides, including a mega-coaster and a water flume.

One of my favorite experiences was the "Penguin Encounter": you paid a few dollars extra and got a special tour inside the penguin building (brrr... :cold: ), where you got to meet the penguins and pet them. Loved that.

If you have a day to spare, go and enjoy!

If you have the time, Sea World is a lot of fun. Its very different from AK with its shows, etc. Having said that, I usually go for a week, stay on property, and never leave the World.

seaworld is fantastic :thumbsup2
i would be so upset if i didn't get to go there on my trip. The shows are all brilliant, and getting to feed the dolphins is such a magical experience.
I was really impressed with how well the animals are cared for and also the big conservation message behind everything.

We really enjoy SeaWorld. They have an incredible show called Blue Horizons. This is one show you should not miss!! My dd loves the Pets Ahoy show. Lots of shows and exhibits, so plan on a whole day.

My fiance and I thought SeaWorld was a lot of fun! I loved Kraken (one of my favorite coasters) and the shows were great! I would definately go there again!

I loved SW. We found it to be much more laid back than any of the parks in WDW. WE took our time and did what we wanted to do and were out of there by about 4 or so. We got there around 10. Now, we don't do those thrill rides, so that saved us some time. But, I would love to add it to our next trip to Orlando.

I have been to Sea World a couple of times now. And it is a great park. I went once during a major renovation, and that wasn't too fun. Be sure to check into show times. Without them, you may feel like you didn't get enough for what you paid.

Enjoy!

I like Sea World about once every two or three years- it's not a must do for every trip for me, though. Definitly worth going if you've never been, though!

How do you get to feed the dolphins?? That sounds really cool.

They have a huge pool called the Dolphin Cove where you can bend over the edge and interact with the dolphins -- pet them, feed 'em fish, etc. It's delightful. :fish:

It can also be very crowded during peak times.

if you want to feed the dolphins, get there at the first feeding at 9:15. the crowds are lighter, and the dolphins are ready to go. you buy a tray of herring and get a spot. the dolphins cruise by usually just out of arms reach. :) show them the fish and they'll come to you, letting you give them a rub. they'll open wide and you toss the fish in. the heavier the crowds, the more particular they can be.

We are going to do both SW and AK when we go next week. We are scheduled to have Dinner With Shamu too :) My best friend who also has boys said that Sea World is their favorite...even over MK! We'll see...I think my boys will like MK better, but I also know they will really enjoy SW.

On all our past trips (until the one we took last week) to Orlando, we usually spend a day at Sea World, a day at Universal and then go to each of the Disney parks. Last week we strictly stuck to the Disney theme parks and our boys both kept asking when we were going to Sea World. They absolutely love Sea World. We probably all know the Sea Lion and Otter show with Clyde and Seamore by heart. We are going to Orlando again in May for 2 days before a 7 day DCL cruise (the boys don't know about that aspect) and they want to go to Sea World first.

Sea World is a must! You must eat at "Sharks!". Skip Atlantis it's wet; to the point that I went into the men's bathroom, stripped and rung out everything I was wearing. Not fun and not a very exciting ride. Splash Mtn's a million times better and dryer. Skip the night show as well if your kids are older than 5. My daughter loved it at 5, she cried so I cried. At 7 she was bored and wanted to leave.

How about this for a reason to go

Thanksgiving Birth at SeaWorld Orlando
Takara the killer whale swims with her newborn calf after giving birth on Thanksgiving eve. The baby was born Wednesday, November 23 at 10:22 p.m. in SeaWorld Orlando’s Shamu Stadium. The new calf weighs 350 pounds and is seven feet long.

I am looking forward to seeing the baby.
