then why open the thread and add a useless remark?

That's something I really don't understand sometimes.

So many posts on the CB that I couldn't possibly read them all. If I see a major controversy, I just stay away. :p

Not necessarily a controversial subject, but if you know that you don't like a certain type of tv show, then why open a thread that's obviously about that subject? I just don't get it.

Ok fine, JoeSchmo might not like that show, but don't be condescending to those that enjoy it. That's all I'm trying to say.

So people are not allowed to express their opinion unless it agrees with everyone else's?

That's not what I'm saying either, Eeyore1954.

You can take your , well you know what you can do with it.

I know I'm not interested in the exchanges, so I don't even bother opening them. If I didn't watch Days of Our Lives, I wouldn't open those threads either since they would be of no interest to me. What would be the point since I have nothing to add? Should I post to them simply to put down the people that do enjoy those things? I think not. That's rude.

workinggal,
I agree. It seem like some people just want to pick a fight or to be condescending/holier-than-thou, etc. No it has nothing to do with differing opinions, as long as everyone is interested in the same subject. But I would never even dream of opening the "SURVIVOR" thread because I've never even seen the show.

::yes:: ::yes:: Just like I'd never think to open a thread asking for advice on dogs, since I've never owned one, or someone asking about travel advice in Washington, DC, since I've never been there....

I open the threads to read them even when I don't know the subject, but not necessarily to comment on them.

And this is not rude and condescending? :earseek: I'd watch throwing rocks in your glass house.

I believe people are allowed to post their opinions, whether or not they agree with everyone else. It's called a difference of opinion and normally adults can find ways to disagree agreeably. Note I said normally. There are exceptions to every rule.

I like getting a cross-section of opinions about different shows, restaurants, etc.

But how many times can someone who never watches reality shows come onto a thread and announce that?? We get it - you don't ever watch them...blah blah blah. Let those of us who do, watch our mindless shows in peace - we don't tell you not to read the CB, after all. :smooth:

I have to agree with Cookie -- I don't mind anyone sharing their opinion, what I do mind is the constant beating of a dead horse that goes on around here, and it sure as heck isn't just limited to reality TV threads. :(

It'd be helpful for those of us who are out of the loop to know who to contact to obtain permission to post on the various threads. I sure don't want to contribute to the thrashing of a deceased equine unit. :smooth:

:duck:  Can't we all just get along? Why does there have to be so much pettiness? Sometimes it seems like others just like to bait people into an argument. Lifes too short enjoy it.

Flame suit zipped and ready to go.

I've always wanted to beat a dead horse, just to say that I have.
One day my dream will come true!

What I don't get is the growing number of people around here who ENJOY hurting other people.......baiting them over and over and over just to cause HURT!!!!!! Its ridiculous, childish and wrong. GROW THE (YOU KNOW WHAT) UP and treat people like you would want to be treated!!!

Not that my saying that did one bit of good because plain out kindness is a absolute impossibility for some of the people on here!
