If you had to choose only 1 offsite restaurant...

which would it be? Our family is looking to do one offsite sit-down meal this trip, but I have no idea what's around the WDW area. I'd like it to be within a very short driving distance, but be suitable for kids and grandparents alike. Any suggestions? I'm not necessarily looking for the big chains, so a good local restaurant would be fine as well. Thanks!

If you want pizza / Italian then I would suggest Giordano's which has a sit down restaurant on US-192...our favorite local place. We order from there each trip but usually for delivery! It's a famous Chicago style deep dish restaurant with a Kissimmee location.

There's also a Pizzeria Uno's on US-192 (another famous Chicago pizza restaurant with a Kissimmee location now).

Bahama Breeze, on 535 (you could also try the one on I-Drive but I prefer this one).

Technically a chain, but it does not feel like it--the food and service are amazing. Very short drive, suitable for both kids and grandparents, and has the "feel" of Florida.

we love it:love:

I asked the kids and as I expected, they quickly (very quickly) responded Cici's Pizza Buffet. I know it is not a sit down and be waited on but it was good, plentiful and cheap. They can't wait to go back. When we heard commercials for them in our area I contacted Cicis to see where they were coming. As it turns out, they are not even licensed in MA. The kids want to go back just to go to Cicis, forget everything else. I liked their salad too but the price, especially with coupons can't be beat.

Mine would be a toss up between Smokey Bones and The Tavern at Celebration Market Place!!!
Coming in 3rd would be Key W Kools

We like Carrabbas on 192. Great italian food at pretty reasonable prices. They give you the yummy olive oil and bread which I can make a meal out of.

Thanks for the suggestions! I was thinking of Giordano's because I've seen it mentioned a few times on the boards. Plus, I can get a GC on Restaurants.com for dinner.

Any other thoughts....??

Definitely Giordano's!!! We eat there at least once each trip! The stuffed pizza is to die for... but don't go with the Restaurant.com GC since it excludes pizza! ;)

There are 2 locations:

7866 W. IRLO BRONSON HWY.
KISSIMMEE, FL
(407)397-0044

12151 S. APOPKA VINELAND RD.
LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL
(407)239-8900

We've been to both and generally choose the location we are staying closest too that trip!

Here's a link to their website:

We like the Orlando Ale House. It's a tradition for each trip we take to Orlando. It's a family friendly sports bar and has good food. It's on 535 near the Downtown Disney Hotels. Here's a link to their website so you can check their menu; http://www.alehouseinc.com/

Logans Roadhouse Grill. Great steak, friendly, peanuts on the table, throw the shells on the floor.

This is good information to know. We are also planning to try to enjoy restaurants outside of WDW on this trip. Any more ideas, send 'em on!

I was interested in this thread, too... I'm looking for a place for New Year's Eve. My DSes want steak though. I don't want to go to Outback again!
When I called WDW all reservations were taken everywhere.

Any ideas?

Is Giordano's on the left side of 192 when leaving WDW? If so, they had great pizza!

We always go to KanPai of Tokyo on S. Kirkman Road for lunch, it's the only offsite restaurant that we think of as a "must do". I can't wait to get my hands on some of their salad roll sushi. :cloud9:
