One thing I have listed on my bucket list is to visit a foreign Disneyland some day. But the question is, which one should I chose? If I'm lucky, maybe I'll get to visit them all, but I'm not holding my breath. I've been watching some videos on Youtube. I haven't seen videos of all, but Tokyo seems like a good choice. But I know that would be $$$$$$. DL in China would definitely be a lesser cost. But then there's DL Paris. So many choices! I'd also love to hear from anyone who's actually visited these foreign parks.

I would go to one of the ones in China (probably Shanghai), because I've already been to Tokyo and Paris. But I would also love to see more of the ones that I have been to, because I only got on day in Paris, so I only went to the Disneyland park. And I haven't been to Tokyo since before the new park opened.

Tokyo looks pretty cool. I'd go there if I could work out how to eat (severe food allergies that make most Asian cuisine risky). I have been to Disneyland Paris (both parks) and did not care for it. A lot more ride breakdowns that I am used to, the parks seemed quite a bit dirtier, and people smoked wherever they wanted to, including in lines. Now, their Phantom Manor was pretty interesting. I'm used to WDW's Haunted Mansion, which to me is a lighthearted affair (999 happy haunts). The DLP Phantom Manor was pretty macabre. It wasn't bad...just very different from the US Haunted Mansions.

Coming from Canada - Disneyland is actually foreign - and there is no way Disney is going to build a park for a country of only 35 million....

If I had to choose I'd likely pick Tokyo just cause I think it would be a neat place to visit all around. I have heard not so nice things about Paris from family that went there - very dirty park. But I don't imagine we will ever venture further than DLR, WDW or Aulani when it comes to Disney trips.

I think I would chose Paris, one because it looks beautiful and two because we hosted a French exchange student a couple of years back and would love to visit with her and take her to the park with us since she became like one of our family!

Tokyo would be our number one choice - hopefully in 2018, follow by Paris in 2019 when DD graduates from high school. We might try HK if we are in the area but we really don't have any desire to visit Shanghai. Aulani would be nice but when we go to Hawaii, we like to just hit the beaches. DD's desire is to visit every Disney park in the world but until then, we will stick with DL. :-)

Tokyo DisneySea specifically.

I will never go to the Shanghai park b/c of the pollution. DH doesn't have asthma or other lung problems, but his brief time in Shanghai had him wearing a filter mask, and he came home wheezing. (he was also in Beijing, which is even worse, but in Shanghai it was very very bad as well)

DL in China would definitely be a lesser cost.

On his travels DH hasn't found China to be *that* much cheaper to be in than Japan, if at all. FWIW.

I am with you - I want to do this one.

I've been to Disneyland Paris. The Ratatouille ride in Disney Studios and the Haunted Mansion in Disneyland are phenomenal and worth the cost of admission - but the rest left much to be desired. Too many smokers and the 'magic' felt like it was missing. I have to remember that the park was adapted for a different audience, but there weren't even ear hats! (They had character baseball hats, though!) :rotfl:

Tokyo is the one everyone talks about however I have no plans to travel to that part of the world, but that is the one I would pick if money, time were no object.

That being said, I am going to London in September and decided to add on a couple of days to run over to Paris, early train to Paris to see the Eifel Tower and the Louvre, spend the night, and then one day to visit DLP, spend one more night then back over to London and fly home the next day. I don't have any desire to spend a lot of time in Paris and would never plan a trip to there on it's own, but I mean how could I be that close and not go.

Shanghai! Because: Enchanted Storybook Castle (biggest castle, even supposed to have a boat ride!), Tron coaster that is supposed to run all throughout Tomorrowland (never seen a Tron movie in my life, no intention to now but the concept art looks freaking awesome!) & Treasury Cove (Pirates themed land). I don't know when all these are expected to open btw & for the record I am predisposed to Shanghai having been to China. My 2nd pick would be DL Paris because Ratatouille ride & restaurant? Yes please!

Tokyo!!! Previous DLRP cast member here, so know those parks pretty well. It was also my first Disney park to visit in 1994. Next year I hope to go to Tokyo and possibly Hong Kong, Tokyo looks beautiful and Disney sea looks amazing!

Have you booked rooms yet? I'd recommend staying in the little 'good neighbor' town that's right next to the park. We had a great deal at the Hôtel l’Elysée Val d’Europe and we loved it. Disneyland Paris is about a 30 minute drive from the Eiffel Tower sans traffic, so we liked being near Disneyland - right next to the train station too!
