If you could live in a Grand Villa at one resort....

Beach Cottage at Vero Beach -- we've only stayed once and they had to drag me out of it on our last day.

I would first pick the beach cottage at Vero, and as a second choice I would pick SSR. If I actually lived there, that "away from it all" feeling you get at SSR, plus the ability to walk to DTD, would be important to me.

Just for grins and giggles, I decided to check in to how much it would cost for a couple of GV.

For AKV-SV: 34680 points
For BLT-MK: 47856 points
For SSR: 31408 points.

Since I own at SSR, I decided to calculate purchase and MF costs for that GV.

Purchase (current resale rate of $62/point): $1,947,296
MF using 2013 value: $147,620.74

I'll side with Tim, Golden Oak is the better choice for that kind of money.

For living, I would be considering parking proximity, so my "Jambo GV dream vacation" preference would make me lean SSR or OKW or BLT.. But Kidani does have the covered parking, and I love the animals...

But I'm too practical and would choose Golden Oak, too;)

BLT theme park view GV would be tempting, but my home resort has my vote. VGC Grand Villa with a pool table on the upper floor? Win! :thumbsup2 (Plus you can't beat California's weather compared to Florida ... )

We would stay at OKW as the units are the largest. We like the location of OKW also. Would like a golf view with some water.

We have been lucky enough to have stayed at boardwalk, HH, and Vero grand villas. I would live in the Vero beach cottage any day!!! We even said with just a couple changes it would be our perfect retirement home on hhi!!!

The more I think about it, the more I realize that my desired location for a vacation is probably different than my desired location to live:

vacation: BWV
live: SSR

I would go for SSR simply because the thing that makes it a less than desired vacation for me (spread out, far from parks) would make it a nice place to live. I would enjoy the access to golf (even though I don't play yet), the health club, and Downtown Disney.

I've only been in one GV and that was at Aulani... I could definitely live there without question!

Gee, I'm biased.

I thought almost every reply was going to be for the 1 floor Grand Villas at Boardwalk Villas.

AKV-Kidani, would definitely want a two story GV if I was living there. Also the fact that the parking is right below the building is a big perk. Lastly, I could never get sick of that view.

I'm going with BLT GV MK view, so that I can wake to see the castle every morning and ride the monorail to the rest of the world.

Aulani, hands down. The did an amazing job with the floor plan (2 entries), master en suite away from the guest bedrooms, and the views are spectacular. The kitchen is super modern and love the countertops. It actually feels like a full-ownership Hawaiian vacation home.

If "forced" to live at WDW, then AKV Jambo.
