If you called to check if you had code....

I called to see if I had a pin code. The gentleman I spoke to told me that they aren't permitted to look for a code under my name. He said it's all random based on what dates you already chose, the number of times you've been at Disney before and how many people are in your party.

I asked if he could check to see if there were any codes under my name or email. He said no. If I don't get a postcard delivered or an email that means there is nothing for me.

I've never received a pin code or postcard before. I guess I'm sticking to my AAA reservation. It would have been nice to save 40% though.
 
OH BOY Disers....have I got a story for you!!! Sorry in advance for the lengthy post...

I have been watching the boards for the past week hearing about the e-mails and postcards with the great pin codes. I've been hearing all of these great stories of people saving loads of money...all while being a bit jealous that I wasn't getting these codes (yet happy for those who were). Well, I called CRO a few days ago to see if there was a code attached to my name....NO. No code, no discount, "no soup for you!". OK. :sad1: I accepted this, I was sad about it, but accepted it.

Well, for some reason I decided to call again this afternoon, just for giggles, to see if there just might be a code......

Lindsey, the WONDERFUL CM I spoke with, informed me that there was indeed a pin code available for me to use for our Sept. vacation - the 40% off code that everyone has been talking about. The same 40% code I called about 3 days ago (and didn't get). Well now it was there! With this code my GV room at the Poly dropped from 279.65/nt (AAA rate) to 197.40/nt, saving us (an additional) $740!

I'm still shaking with excitement!

So anyway, the logical question is....why now??? Why not 3 days ago?? DH and I have a theory that these discounts are a part of the YOAMD???? Maybe CM's can even give away X number of these away?? I don't know, but I am really thrilled.

So for those of you that have already called to check on the pin code, you may just want to try again!!

I amaze myself-not ONCE have I been resentful that it seems like *everyone else* has gotten a code. The dissers are nice folks-I'm HAPPY for everyone who did get a code.

And for you - when talking with Lindsey the CM, she said something about the dining plan and I said "free dining" and she said "no, not YET". She said they had not heard anything yet about free dining, but definitely gave me the impression that it would be coming. So hopefully you and Dh will get that free dining!!! :)
 

I booked my trip for July. I did not have a pin so I asked to see if my daughter had a pin, and low and behold, yes she did. They said we could use it because she lives with me, however, no dates in July. He did say watch your email or metro papers soon. What ever that means.
 
So are these codes only becoming available to those who have already booked their trips for certain times of the year? We have our trip booked for April, during Spring Break, so of course there isn't a discount code for then. But I'm wondering if we had our trip planned for a different time, would there be a code available for us?

As you see April and most of March and May are not included.
 
Where can I find the code for FEb 25-March 7th. Is it a generall one? Could someone PM me? We are going in that time, and if I can save, that would be great. I know before they were sending out some with or without dining, but I never saw one for that time frame. We want dining with ours.
 
Just tried again - Another rude CM told me no pin attached to my name.

One of these days I'll put them on a spot and ask them why it is I'm on every mailing list there is yet I get none of these discoutns that others get.

I just want to hear them say, "Well, we already have your business so we have no need to cut you any breaks."

You might want to read through some of the thread and others similar incase I miss anything...These are codes that are supposedly mailed/emailed to individuals and can not be shared with other people. They are valid via the enclosed pin which is not transferrable as they have it in their computer to check. Well I have been told 2x I have had a code that has expired before my trip and I have never received anything from them. Many people are the same even if it is simply because it went straight to the spam mail folder and deleted before we ever saw it. So we call and ask if we have the current code 'attatched' to our name in their computer. If it is in their computer and you are booking for the same name/address match you still get to use it. People have had varrying results with this. Being told no when a later call gets them told yes. Being given the code to have it taken back.....No one here can give you the info, you wouldnt be able to use it and it is against the rules of the boards.

I thought these Monthly code watches were so people put out there codes when the got them?

These are private pin codes. When you receive one, you receive a pin number for just your account. You can always call to see if you have the pin attached to your account and your email or snail mail got lost.

Does anyone know if you check-in during the advertised special (the 40% off) if the room rate will stay the same or change during your vacation?

We're goin in Oct. and a friend of mine received this email and was just going to book both of our rooms so we could all share in the discount (it was going under her name) and I just wondered if that would work or if anyone had experienced that?

BTW, I'm new and can't figure out how to fix my signature, but I'm working on it now, that's why it looks "messed up." :)

Thanks, but it won't happen. I get how it works. No need to offer deals to people they've already got.

You know what the really sad part is - I'm not even calling anymore to see if I'll have a pin attached to my name. I'm calling in hopes I'll speak with a CM who's not rude to me.

I will tell you one thing though - When I'm there in May, I can't WAIT for a CM to come up to me with one of those computer survey things and ask me to take it. :badpc:
 
Just called 2x First CM (Margana maybe?) told me no codes attached to my name, no value rooms available Nov.3-9 and no BC available those dates. Does that make sense? I thought this would be a less busy time. Second CM ("Lincoln") said no codes attached to my name and they're (postcards and emails) only going out to specific "target areas" I live in PA. When he checked rates for me, I forgot to ask if they were available, but he wouldn't tell me rates if there's no availability, right? SOOOOOO frustrated.
 
I called this afternoon and asked the CM to please check and see if I had any discount codes attached to name. I waited a bit, but then I was told - Yes! I was shocked.....However it was for travelling now till 14 Feb. My trip is in May.....I guess it can't hurt to keep calling back every so often to check and see.
