If you booked on SWA . . .

Why should we check on Tuesday- is that the typical day of the week when they change fares?
I have the chance to go to WDW for a mini-trip in June-"business" trip (16-20th)
We can get the $49 fare on the way there but the cheap fare ends before our return- If I can get $98 RT we will definately go.
FINGERS CROSSED

Yes, that is the day. Go to their site and sign up for the weekly fare update. It comes in your email.

I want to thank everyone on this thread. I finally got my nerve up last night (late) to call SWA and ask about our flights. Since only my return flight was still available on the web, I was hoping to just get it changed to the new promo price. Instead, I got the new promo price on all of it since I had a promo price originally! Thanks so much...you all saved me $188 on a total of 4 tickets! I wouldn't have done it without everyone's success and encouragement on this thread! I'm delighted because they usually have a sale AFTER I have already traveled.

HI ALL!
Sorry to post this so late but I have been doing Taxxes all day and got distracted.
I hope Angbuz signed up for Rappid Rewards yesterday?
I got my E-Mail this morning and tried for the $39 fare from my already $49 fare ?
Well, the nice Lady at SWA said I was under the 14 day advance purchase and she couldn't do it.
I hope you all have a better outcome!
I know I'm obsessed with Walmart:
"Don't you just LUV(SWA) a Bargain!"

"ENJOY!!!"

"THE MAGIC HAPPENS!!!"

You might be obsessed with Walmart, but, that jingle you quoted is from the Christmas Tree Shops. :)

I called yestarday and recieved credit toward future travel. I was told I could not get money back on CC. After reading all the posts I wrote a letter to the refund department address given earlier. I told them that I had read that since it was a sale and that nothing on my reservation changed that I thought I was eligible for credit on my VISA. I included my reciepts.

I will let you know when I hear anything. That $160 will come in handy at WDW, hope I get it back.

I thought I would update everyone. I have never recieved a letter back from SW, but yestarday I checked my credit card statement on line and I indeed had the $40 per ticket credited to my account 2 days ago!! I am so happy about this, I didn't think I would have time to use the vouchers by Janury (original purchase date).

Hope others can get lucky!

My flights for 4 people went down $200. I called Southwest and they had to cancel my reservation and I made a new one with my ticketless funds.

I had $200 available for future travel. I asked the rep if I could get it credited to my Visa; she said to call the Refunding Dept. and ask.

I called (214-792-4223) and she verified that I had chosen the exact same flights. Once she verified that, she said I would see a refund in 7 to 10 days.

Hooray! My sister works for Southwest, and I didn't even know you could do this!

Thanks to everyone on this board. I'm a long-time lurker, first-time poster. I have already saved a lot of money from the facts learned on this board--thanks! :sunny:

Thanks SWA!! I called AmEx and my $286 credit hit before I had to pay my bill. We leave on 4/28 and that extra money will come in handy.

I'm going in August and my rates for Southwest just dropped from $79 each way to $49 each way. I went through the step by step process listed, which I thank the poster for, and it said I had a $240 credit for future travel. I then called the 214 number posted, thanks again, and she said I would see a refund in 7-10 days. Now I'm going to order my Seaworld tickets that I've been putting off. This is from Providence to Orlando, end of August. Thanks all on teaching me about getting that money back!

I just ordered the 4 Pepsi promotional Seaworld tickets with the free lunch and two pepsis for the 4 of us. With shipping it was about $235, so they were free with $5 to spare! I love free!

Thanks to TNCL and Linda L. re: refund info.

I'm on hold to SWA right now to get more fun coupons for WDW.

Yipppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Done got the credit to cc.

Thanks again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just called the 214 number and was told that I can't get a refund because the tickets are non refundable. I have almost $500.00 dollars in vouchers now that need to be used before may!!!! We will never be able to fly out before then. I was hoping for some of everyone elses luck, but no dice!!

o well, at least we are going to DISNEY!!!

sure, her name is Maria and she is super nice.

Should I call SWA back and hope to speak to someone else or did I get the correct information? I was told that I MUST rebook on-line that the agent cannot see the new on-line rates? She said that I must cancel our flight then rebook useing the credit, then to call the 1-214-792-4223 number and request a refund. I hate to let our flight go and rebook, it just worries me that the flight won't be there. Advise please!!!!:teeth:

I just read that you can go to the change Itinerary and book at the lower fare. The information you were given is correct, the agents cannot see these fares.
Whatever you do, make sure those fares are available before you do anything.
It is really easy and I would try the change Itinerary first.
here is the link: http://www.southwest.com/travel_center/changeItinerary.html

Thanks Gail! I feel better knowing I can see the flight is still available. I want the exact same flights, so the only difference will be the price. :D

Well, then, go for it!!!!! And, good luck. :) Let us know how you do.

I will have to wait until morning as the tickets at the higher price are my mom, dad and grandfather's. But I did book the 4 of us on the same flight with them tonight. We had planned to drive to save a bit of money but at this rate WE GET TO FLY!!!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc So in the AM I will be working hard to lower thier cost. The difference will buy some great Boat Drinks!:D
