The firehouse to show me the fire engines. And today we celebrated our 42nd Anniversary so I must have been impressed enough to go out with him again.
My husband and I just celebrated 35 years on the 6th. I went out with him as the request of one of my Aunt's in December 1987. We went to a basketball game. He asked me to marry him 2 months later. We eloped in July 1988. We have four children and seven grands.

We grew up together. College, kids, career changes, illness, and just life- I am blessed to be living life with him.

Congratulations to you both.

Homecoming at my University followed by a party at my Fraternity. Very eye opening for my wife who commuted to a State University from home, never lived on campus, and had no idea about Greek life. This was a year after I graduated. Didn't scare her off.

We never really had a first date. He took me to his dump of a house. I really should have turned around and ran. Had I known when I saw it at the age of 18 that it still wouldn’t be done when I was 61, I would have. Young and dumb.

We went to the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park to see the sunrise on the summer solstice. On the way back to campus we stopped for bagels and coffee. We've been married 30 years, together for 38; I knew he was a keeper!
I love going up there and was not long ago. You now need a reservation to go up there. Amazing how much colder it can be.

We had coffee in the lobby of my hotel (Henry Norman in Brooklyn), then walked around the area and had some dinner. That was our coffee meet and greet type date. Next day was more date-like, and we went and saw a Dresden Dolls concert.

We were both stationed at a small Air Force base in Arkansas. Our first date was to a great little all-you-can eat catfish shack in the adjoining small town. He couldn't have picked a better place for this TN girl. That was 34 years ago. We'd drive there tomorrow if the little restaurant was still open.

I know. It kills me to not be able to just go drive thru the park. When I worked in Bar Harbor, we'd go over at lunch time just to relax in the park and take in the scenery. Now you have to plan ahead. Not the same...
