If we can DREAM it, we can do it! ..... another 30 day vacation Update 02/07

Sorry about the rain (can't believe those waves), but the city, so far, looks beautiful.

Congrats on getting your cabana and your brunch reservations.

I can't sleep, so I figured I would play catch up.
Too bad about the rain, but it still looks beautiful.
yay for scoring palo brunch and early port time.
I woke at the crack of dawn today. My mind won't settle down, so I took a few walks inside and out here at the residence inn near the port. I saw the dream pull in about 20 minutes ago. I didn't get a good view though as she was already pretty far in.
I also saw either the biggest rat in the world or a armidillo. I sure hope it was the later.

I just had a look at Port Canaveral webcam - I will definitely watch the DREAM sail out tonight - maybe I can get a glimpse of you! :thumbsup2
I really hope you saw an Amardillo ...... not a giant rat! :scared1:

We knew that it would be raining, so we were prepared and the visit to Venice was pretty neat. :goodvibes

We decided against Palo dinner this time, we have had the menu backwards and forwards. ;) We love brunch and were happy to score it, plus scoring the Cabana :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: and early port time. :thumbsup2

You know..even in the rain. I love the beach pics. Maybe since its so empty. Oh and those pizzas..awesome..it is my lunchtime

Hmm the town here has limited food places with power..ill pretend I'm eating yummy pizza

The beach looked so different, all empty, but then it had something really peaceful about it. :thumbsup2
Now, DID you have some yummy pizza for lunch? :goodvibes

So I am a million miles behind but I have finally caught up
It's just soooooo exciting when you can finally book your dining and excursions :)
I hope one day we can snag a cabana

:woohoo: for being caught up again. Tell me about catching up :lmao: ... as much as I love our short getaways, but catching up lateron is a lot of work. :rotfl:

Getting to make those reservations is just such a huge step towards the cruise again. It feels so much more real and closer and in just a few days we will be in the double digits! :cheer2:

Linda, you need to try and get a Cabana sometime. It is just the most relaxing thing to do. Yip, a treat with a price tag, but so worth it! :goodvibes

Well, not even Disney can influence the weather and since we knew beforehand about it, we were prepared for it.
It was so peaceful without the gazillion tourists. We both loved it a lot this way.
Thanks for sharing our excitement about the Cabana and Palo. Getting to book these is just another huge step towards our vacation. :cloud9:

Great news on your Feb. cruise plans Karin! Love Palo Brunch.

Thank you, Teresa! I knew you would understand.
Soon, very soon we will be able to book extras for OUR cruise. You can now book Remy brunch online as well! :thumbsup2

Yahooey for the Cabana and the early time slot and for Brunch at Palo!!!! What is the early board time ?? I assume our TA will do this .. It is hard to preplan much as they don't have a complete list of the travellers yet !!So I guess we wont get a tooo early time !! I know we don't do the extra meals !!! I have been studying the menus, and following pix from you and the Dis Moms . The trouble is each menu has several options I really want to try , and although I know I could my tummy says NO WAY JOSE!!!:rotfl2:

I am so happy to have scored a Cabana again, Rosie! It really helps with my sensitive eyes to get into the shade and in February it can get pretty chilly and the Cabana offers some "shelter". ;)

Earliest boarding time is 11 - 11.30am. Not sure if the TA does the online check in for you, but it is easy to do! :thumbsup2
There is NO need for extra meals on a first cruise, Rosie. The main dining rooms are fun and the food is pretty good.
As for trying some different stuff, just ask your server to bring you an extra portion or a tasting portion. The portions are not all that big anyway. ;)

Congrats on the cabana & Palo brunch.:cheer2:

Love your breakfast, all the types of food I like! We were in Amish country last week for 3 days. We bought cheeses, wine, baked goods & meats. Delicious!

Congrats on the cabana and palo! Yum!! I can't wait until I can think about a Palo ressie again.

I love that you got the cabana again!!! And palo too!!! I look forward to seeing all the beautiful pictures that I know will come out of those two reservations!!!

The TA does all of the booking etc !!She is really nice so I can always put in my thoughts , ideas and she will do her best to fill them !!I know I have seen Cruise line buses at ME so am sure we will be whisked away in one of those !! Does your luggage have to be picked up and put on the bus or is it just like ME to Disney World ??? I do know we do excursion(s) and Patti mentioned a glass bottom boat ,which is something I would LOVE!!! I know scuba diving etc is out and I am VERY Thankful for that:rotfl2:I am dissappointed that the DisMom's wont be along , but we will have a BALL!!!This will be CarolE's first cruise and my 2nd :cool1::cool1:

I was really hoping I would be able to get a Cabana. We didn't get one last February (a glitch in their system did not let me book :furious:) and it would have been very convenient.
Isn't it great to be able to get foods that you don't normally eat now and then. I just love our weekend trips ... so much fun and so yummy. :lmao:

Congrats on the cabana and palo! Yum!! I can't wait until I can think about a Palo ressie again.

Thank you, Cynthia!
You really need to try and get a Cabana on one of your next cruises. They are so worth the money.
We just love Palo brunch, and I was surprised to see that you can now book Remy brunch online as well. :thumbsup2

Thank you, Ann!
When I told Tom that I had scored Cabana 19 again he called it our second home. :lmao:
And I promise to take A LOT of pics! :woohoo:

As I said before, I don't know if TAs do the online check-in, but it might well be. I am just happy I can do it myself. ;)
Rosie, I have NO idea if you need to pick up your luggage to get on the DCL bus. We always HAVE TO pick up our luggage coming from another continent. Plus we have NEVER used Disney transportation ...... we just love our rentals. ;)
There are lots of different excursions that are offered through Disney - check their site, Rosie, so you'll get an idea.
As for us, since we always have done the same itinerary so far we don't do any more excursions with Disney. We just wander off on our own. ;)
You will LOVE DCL, Rosie, only downside ...... once you are in their grip, you don't want to go on any other cruiseline. ;) :lmao:

Italy October 2012

Day 2, October 27

Is there a Disney Store in Venice? - Part 2

We walked across the Piazza Roma and considered using a water taxi to the Marcus Square, but then decided that the weather was nice enough to walk there.

So we followed the signs and quickly noticed that many people were wearing Wellingtons or some other kind of fun footwear.

IMG_6930.jpg

Walking a little further where all the canals were we quickly found out why. The rain and storm the night before had flood the city. There were quite a few pavements flooded and we had to watch where we were going. The streets are narrow and there were lots of bridges to cross,

We soon came across a Murano glass shop and I purchased a few more beads for my bracelet and some gifts for our catsitter friends.

Once we had paid we walked on and came across a lot more fun shops.

I would be freaking out walking that close to water. I would be imagining falling into the water!:scared1:

I love the glass, I used to collect blown glass pieces. The plague costume & mask is so cool. I could have lots of fun with that!:stir:

Beautiful pictures.

I love Murano...a ndear friend gave me a necklace of a Murano stone and I love it.

I have one of those glass clowns that are on the shelf in your picture. Got it when I lived in Germany.

Congratulations on the cabana and Palo brunch. I loved Venice. I love Murano glass, I would go crazy in that store.

Lovely update! The pictures are so great and the food always looks amazing.

Yay for booking the cabana, Palo brunch, and an early port time. Sounds like everything is coming together for your February vacation!
