If we book a Western cruise for next April (we just returned from the Eastern), does that mean when a code such as STM comes up for next Spring, we are locked into our price or can we get the lower price? So I guess my question is book now, or wait for a special code?

book now -- if a code comes out -- you can have your price adjusted.... However, recently DCL has stopped promotions and instead are offering steap discounts to those who book the earliest.

If we book now, how do we get a discount later? We booked online and never talked to any living person. First 2 cruises we booked through Disney travel desk at Disney Store in Woodfield and had a person to talk to, travel desk is gone and we booked online.

Hi Plutojudy!
Hope you enjoyed the cruise as much as we did!

We booked for next May while on board. We asked if a better deal came along if our reservation could be adjusted and were told "no problem".

We were a little shocked to find, however, that we were promised $750 in savings per adult to reserve while on board and that these savings could not be found elsewhere. When we returned home, we found that these are the same prices listed on the website...guess they saw us coming!;)

Anyway, we are looking forward to next May and will continue to look for a cheaper way to get there!

If you have a cruise booked, you can watch these boards for a discussion about a new promotion code. Once you know the exact name or the exact code involved woth the promotion, you can DCL (or your TA if you booked through one) and have the cruise repriced to the lower amount. You must know the exact name or the exact code to have it repriced. You can't simply ask for 'the new price' or 'the new promotion price'.

One example of a past promotion was the 'Fall Fantasy'. If you knew it was available, you could call and get the new and lower price. It is also capacity controlled, so once you know that your cruise is eligible for a promotion, it's better to call as soon as possible. If you wait, all of the cabins for that promotion could be booked and you would lose out.

hope that helps

We were on the wonder in May 2001
we had such a great time we booked the western cruise through AAA for May2003
I know as a rule rates go up so, the other day I poked in the Disney Website
and found my cruise had gone down 713.00$
I thought this is not right so I called and confirmed with Castaway club
and they gave me the exact rate! AAA called and got the rate applied to my ressie.
now I just have to wait for springtime magic to really bring it down
I also read that the seasons have changed.
where can I see that? I looked in my brochure but couldn't find the dates for value
peak etc.

388 days to go!!!

We are about to book a 4 night Wonder for December. Do you think we'll stand any chance of a discount between now and then?

We book through Dreams Unlimited, and one of the main reasons is the fact that they will watch for the special promotions for you and automatically change your reservations. This has happened numerous times, mostly on our fall cruises, and we have saved a bundle! That way, we can book early enough to get the secret porthole rooms and still get any savings later.

plutojudy,
we are also going back next April on the Western. We decided that we would do that instead of Christmas as the weather would be better and my other Daughter could come then as well.
So if you are planning to go on April 26th. 2003 let me know and we'll plan another Dis meet!!!:D

Oh darn, I think we are going March 29, supposed to confirm today. (March 29 is muggs' birthday.) I wish we could meet again, we really enjoyed meeting you, your mom and your daughter. Have fun without us. What are you going to do for Christmas instead of the cruise?
