If VWL and VBR had a baby...they would call it Disneys Hilton Head Island Resort.

We just got back from a sweet week in a one bedroom Sunday. I was joined by my wife and DD's ages 7 and 4. We enjoyed riding bikes on the beach, swimming, and playing games together. The staff including Kory, Nichole, Sonya, Mike, B'lou and of course Shadow were genuine, friendly, and professional. We felt like we were at a summer camp for families except that the accomodations were deluxe. We had a marsh view and enjoyed hanging out in our room. We attended campfires, hung out with B'lou (ghost stories, puppet shows, HH history, and magic.), did kids nights out, and Chef Gordons adventures in cooking. We were having such a good time that we added an eighth day in a studio to the end of our trip. Disney magic surely lives in Shelter Cove, HHI.

PS: rschneck, Thanks for your fine report. I bet we ran into each other once or twice and never knew it.

GG...wow, that's quite an endorsement from a VWL lover such as yourself! :)

I'm always glad to hear of the great experiences members have at HH and VB. Those are two resorts that are in our "some day" category.

Until then, we live vicariously through these reports...thanks for your report!

Thanx for the report, Geyser Gazer. We also are going to visit HH in the not too distant future.

We thought we would never enjoy another resort better than VWL, but HH really is a cross between VBR and VWL. We have been there twice and each time we add on another day on a whim. It is hard to leave........

I was very hesitate to take my first trip to HHI. Afterwards I was on the phone buying an add-on there. It is a wonderful and relaxing place to stay. The Staff is awesome. As a matter of fact, I have decorated my 1/2 bath with HHI prints and other low country stuff.

Dare I say that the staff at HHI is even more interactive than WDW. Thanks for the woderful report - you have made me totally homesick.

Shh! Don't let everyone know how nice it is. It's busy enough already ;) ;)

HHI is a must for all DVC'ers!

So, does that mean that SSR is the love child of OKW and DTD? ;)

We had a great time at HH....even on a freezing cold night in Feb!

We only got to do the campfire....it was great fun, even in the cold!

Can't wait to spend more time there in the future...maybe even add on a resale!

Gotta say Alethia is adorable. We were also at HHI in February, LOTS of cold nights when we were there, but we must have been there a different week. I definitely would have remembered her!

After staying at HH last summer, I have to say that it is my favorite DVC resort. While it is nice being at WDW, HH is totally awesome and the resort has a perfect feel to it.

this is a perfect analogy.......! hhi is THE most magical special place.... we are in love with its charm and mystique. weve been there countless times and that carolina low country wonder and texture and feel just sneaks into your soul and wont let go. can you tell we love it????:p

I have stayed at HH only once, but liked it enough to add-on a few points. The piece that I think is missing from the equation is a decent sit-down restaurant. When I go on vacation, that is one of the conveniences that I really look for. I know that there are many decent places to eat in the vicinity, and Disney dining experiences are usually overpriced, but I still miss the fact that there is nothing but a take-out window on site.

Just an observation.
