If there were a 5th gate…

…what would your theme be?

I've always loved the idea of Disney Villians- so much you could do with a more teen to adult oriented park. It would be Disney’s first and only direct competitor to Universal. You could do a scarier version of Halloween.

And the centerpiece could be the witch’s castle from Sleeping Beauty.

I think something similar to that has been running around the rumor mill back even when I joined this forum! (2007!)
The idea has TONS of support, so if Disney ever does a 5th gate it could be a serious contender.

Whatever another gate might be, our preference would be something with rides that are a bit more on the thrilling side. Enough with the kiddie rides and half-***** roller coasters. (We're super excited for the Tron coaster and the Guardians coaster - hoping for some THRILL in these new rides!)

so wish list right? I would hope they could do a 3x larger Avengers Campus than DCA and a second Star Wars land that does goes back to the original trilogy and maybe even the prequels.

AC of course has rights problems with Universal but I would love to see a 2nd SW land that goes back to our favorite movie moments

I'm all about thrill rides, but that's what I go to other parks for. While I would love some actual thrill rides at WDW, that really isn't the main reason I go there, so I'm ok with them not really having anything thrilling. But definitely not against it!

A mystical creatures campus, pulling from ancient mythology from around the world, would allow for kiddie rides and thrill rides. (I'm over the Disney villain stuff. It's entertaining for adults but not always the best message for impressionable kids IMO. In my experience kids see it as justification for bad behavior. Like if you know a villain's back story and then feel sorry for them, the evil that they do is lessened and excusable, which I think is dangerous in the real world. Sorry, off soap box.)

The problem with "Other park's" thrill rides; they are missing the theming of Disney. Yes, I can go to a stand alone roller coaster at any amusement park. Boring.
I want more rides like EE! Now THAT is a ride! The perfect marriage of everything to make one of the best rides ever created: back story, props, sets, thrilling ride, etc. I want the theatre of it all! (I'm a performer myself, so the immersive theatre aspect of Disney is one of the primary things that keeps me going back again and again. Well, that and a lifetime of nostalgia, but a HUGE portion of it is the immersive theatre aspect.)

It would be Scrooge McDuck themed.
Huge pile of gold as the center "weinie". It would cost two days admission to get in. Each attraction would carry a surcharge.

Restaurants would serve "golden" chicken nuggets at a premium, while regular chicken nuggets would be silver.

Turkey legs would be smaller, but you can get three for the price of two. You would also have to bring your own popcorn containers.

CM's would accept tips to route you to the front of the line, cutting your wait down to 30 minutes.

Young children could go to a special learning center. The main activity there would be learning how to count money in the shortest amount of time. Because, of course, time is money.

...and the big attraction would be the Ferengi ride.

Yes. There are so many rides and ideas in other parks to draw from.
  • I think there's a Zootopia land coming to Shanghai Disneyland.
  • Move the Laugh Floor and Space Ranger Spin to open up space in Tomorrowland.
  • And I think Brave needs an attraction, as well.

I love this! Except they'd end up naming it "Walt Disney World's Disney Pixar Palace Amusement and Theme Park".

How about a park that addresses all the not yet celebrated characters.
One land would be villans
One land would be prince and kings
One land would be animal heros (ie Bambi)
One land would be princesses that have not yet been celebrated (ie Pocahontas)

I did like the idea of a fully immersive park. So lands where the cast members play the part in the stories. Like a Zootopia land (with Animal Cast members), Some kind of enchanted forest land, Full on Arrendell, San Fransokyo and also a land which is purely for the little ones like a Disney Jr land akin to Seuss Landing at the other place.

Arendelle is coming to Disneyland Paris in a few years as part of the Disney Studios refurbishment.

Sketches.

Oooh - I had another idea. Something that wouldn't use IPs.
It would be cool to have a larger than life historical park.
Sections could be:
-Ancient Rome
-Victorian England in Steampunk style
-Renaissance Europe
-Maybe an ancient South American country/culture

I think this is the way to do it really. That's not to say they couldn't use some IP based attractions where they fit in the themeing, but the lands wouldn't be so locked into one thing. This is like Tokyo DisneySea, where they do have a Renaissance area, but also a South American area called Lost River Delta where they do have Indiana Jones, or the American Waterfront where they have Toy Story Midway Mania and their own version of Tower of Terror. As long as it fits, they can add that stuff, but I do like lands that are a little less defined than being about one single IP.
