If there is free dining offered, from looking at the boards it appears that the rooms at POR (& POFQ?) for free dining are already sold out for my dates(11/30-12/7). I already have POR booked and chose it because there are 5 in my family and I am really excited to stay there now. My parents are also going with and staying at POR. My dilemma is, if FD is offered and there are no FD rooms available at POR should I stay at a value or moderate. My parents have no problem letting one of my kids sleep in their room, but I didn't want to impose, so we wouldn't need a room that sleeps 5. I don't really want to spend the extra money on the moderate if we have to get a room that only sleeps 4, but am already set on POR and the extra's a moderate offers. But probably won't be spending very much time at the resort. Anyone else in this situation?? I'm very indecisive and over think everything, but want to be prepared with a 2nd or 3rd choice if need be. (Also thinking if we do get FD and stay at a value, how much $$ we would be saving versus no discount and staying at POR)

If they are sold out for the PIN offer, that does not mean they will be sold out for any other offers, should a general public offer be made.

If you choose the value, would you be upgrading your free QS dining plan to the regular plan?

Well that is great to hear, I did not know that. We would upgrade the dining plan, yes. We also have a Disney Visa so would hopefully get first pick of FD rooms. Crossing my fingers for FD or Room Discount!

I hope what you read on the boards is wrong. My family of is booked for POR AB as well for 11/30-12/8. I would love to stay at AoA (my 4 and 6 year olds would love it) but my 7 year old is on the autism spectrum and gets overstimulated very easily...AoA is clearly out of the question for him. Hopefully, when it comes down to it, my husband will spring for Yacht/Beach Club....
Here's hoping we both get what we need...there really aren't enough choices for families of 5.

There really aren't! I would LOVE to stay at the Poly, but don't want my parents to have to pay so much for a room, especially when there's just two of them. Maybe a few years down the road when the kids are a little older and there's no one with us.

I wish I could convince my in-laws to come with us. Then I would get regular rooms anywhere we wanted get ajoining rooms, book one of the kids with them, and we could have one of the kids rotate out with them each night. Would your parents be willing to do that?
And I really think, since WDW is so limited on family of 5 rooms, that the AB rooms should be held just for those families first, then if there is room they should fill up with others. Either that or just put murphy beds in some of the other rooms through POR!

They are willing to do that, but I only want to if we have too. I know my dad will need a break from my kids. :) We do have a lot more choices that way, but I would probably have picked POR either way.

:thumbsup2don't count it out yet... just because PIN offers are sold out does not mean that future promo offers are going to be sold out... good luck!

I'm staying at POR too (not the same dates) and I wouldn't worry about it. That is one of there largest resort's and even though pin codes will fill up some of there rooms a general public offer fills alot more. I have a Disney visa so I hope for that three day jump. I think the stress will kill me before I get there.

I am so relieved!! I can make my ADR on my birthday next week, I think that's a sign! :)

Happy birthday!! Definitely make those adrs. Made mine a couple of weeks ago and got everything I wanted. ROSE AND CROWN,GRAND FLORIDIAN CAFE, KONA CAFE,VIA NAPOLI, OLIVIAS AND TRAILS END. Will probably do bog for lunch just to check it out the menu doesn't really thrill me but would like to see the inside. No character breakfasts bc my son feels he's too old for that.(16) would love to get the pin just so I don't have to stress waiting for the general public offer. This way I could worry about other things, like airfare lol!

Even if for some reason it isn't available during the Visa offering try again under the general public deal. Last year I didn't try to book till the last day of the Visa offer and couldn't get DD's resort request but the next day it opened back up under the general public deal and was still available a month later when some friends decided to join us. Good luck!

My plan is to be home on the first day of the visa offer, right at 6:59am. Usually there isnt a problem getting what you want. I need to rearrange my vacation a little to do a room only the first night at any of the value resort's then start my pkg on November 11th if the general public offer follows the pin dates. I'm not too picky about the room category or resort as long as it's a mod.

I'll share I'm in the same boat as you. Booked at POR in a preferred room with a family of 5. Received a PIN for free dining but there are no 5 people rooms available on the offer at POR. The Royal rooms are available but are limited to 4 people meaning I'd need 2 rooms which just isn't worth it to us. Looked at all the options including switching to a AoA suite with FD, or the cabins at FW with FD, and found that the total cost trip with FD at those two would be the same total trip cost if I just stayed in my current room and paid for dining. So with a family of 5 and not wanting to grab 2 rooms at a value, my current situation is still the cheapest by just paying out right.

So I'm with you hoping for a Disney Visa or General Public offer with availability at the 5 person rooms at POR. Or maybe a room only discount. Or hoping Disney releases more rooms for the current offers, though doubtful. Here's hoping!

I'm still hoping for available POR rooms for my family of 5 too, not that i got a pin, nor have i talked my sister who did get one into going. I would honestly book an AoA suite since that would give us a lot more room and an extra bathroom, and my 2 youngest would LOVE it there, but since my son is on the autism spectrum that really is not an option for us as he gets very easily overstimulated. POR is just the perfect location for him. Here's hoping something comes our way!

Just FYI, but last I looked, YC/BC were pretty booked up for their "affordable" rooms from Thanksgiving through Christmas (more or less) because of a number of conventions...
