I certainly won't weep for him- but I'd rather not watch somebody die. I voted "no"

I don't want to watch someone die, no matter how bad they were.

I'm against the death penalty, so there's no way that I would watch. I think it would have been a greater humiliation to the once great leader of Iraq to allow him to live in prison-or better yet cleaning streets or something like the DOC does around here.

Anyone who would want to watch a person being hanged is one scary person. You might as well move to the middle east where you'd fit in with all the rest of them who love to watch these grusome events without batting an eyelash.

I'm not losing any sleep over his upcoming execution. Couldn't happen to a better guy. That being said, I do not want to watch his death. That boarders on a fine line to me, but to each their own.

As horrible as he was; I would never be able to.
I'd have nightmares.

Just curious....

Would you?

I would have answered maybe, but it wasn't a choice. I can understand why some people, especially those personally connected victims of this monster's horror, may want to watch. IMO, it's not too different from those who witness any other death penalty execution, family members of the victims sometimes choose to witness. As for everyone else, 48% answered yes, but none posted. Why not?

I'd buy tickets if they sold them...and I'd wait in line for days if they sold them for Bin Laden's:thumbsup2

Agreed.

No, I have no desire to watch anyone die.

Isn't it amazing that if you go back into history, public hangings used to be a form of entertainment? People would bring the kids and a snack...

Well I also would have voted maybe, but since that wasn't a choice I voted yes. And I don't think I am a sick person, as another poster had suggested that anyone who would watch this was sick.

Um ewww no way! Who wants to see that??

I agree. I also think it's human nature to watch. How many people rubber-neck as they pass accidents, hoping to see what? Someone injured, dead perhaps? What about all the people glued to the OJ Simpson trial? Human nature. Like another poster said, back in history, public hangings/ executions, used to be a family outing. I wonder if we are really so far removed as we'd like to think.
