Unfortunately, finances won't be allowing us to visit WDW for quite a while. We're looking at the summer of 2004 or 2005 before we've paid off some debts and can realistically look at heading back down :(

While that has been a downer for me....it also means I have have a heck of a time to plan, plan, plan!!!

We always have a fabulous time at WDW, but now that I'm able to dream and save away a little each month, for what could practically be two years, I have thought of a fun notion.....

If you had this much time to plan and save what is the ONE thing you would make sure you did/saw next time you went to WDW that you were never able to do before, or that you did and ABSOLUTELY loved.

The one thing I would do is make sure I stayed at the AKL. I would rather wait longer and save more $$ to make sure I could afford staying there... it is that brilliant!!!!

We're going in August and staying at ASMo, but the trip after that, I am definitely going to try and book a Deluxe resort. My big plan in August is to have DH go Deluxe hopping with me, so he gets the bug. I just KNOW it will work. I'll book far in advance so I have time to pay it off in cash. Then everybody's happy. :D

Great tip, after staying at ASMu and eating at so many deluxe resorts, we'll definitely splurge next time and stay elsewhere.

Debating between AKL, WL, and Poly right now.....

ok well i agree go to AKL

and another thing to do is take it back a notch. We did this last time and i had a much better time than ever before.

when we stayed at AKL it was so peaceful and serence and gorgeous that we didn't want to leave the room. We left late and returned early. Glad we didn't have any kids to hurry us off to the parks.

Consider eating at Boma's while you are there. Breakfast and dinner are both highly spoken of meals.

Never-Done-but-would-like-to: Poly Luau dinner show (new show debuts this year!)
Done-Before-but-want-to-again: Haircut at Harmony Barbershop!

Boma is one of greatest restraunts i have ever eaten in. I love ethnic food and this place was a great place to go to try some.

I wanted to go the Luau last time but didn't and am now kicking myself.....it's definitely something I'm not passing up again!

I bet my DH would love the Main Street Barbershop. Great Idea!

Surely others out there have some "If only...." thoughts that they regret not doing or would definitely never miss again

Oh, BTW.....I LOVE BOMA and will make sure we go there on each and every trip :)

DH has told me that our upcoming Dec. trip will probably be the last until after we have kids and they are of age to appreciate it :( which means 5 years at least

So while we can't go completely hogwild I am thinking of our must do list - the big things are

The Breathless tour to see Illuminations
and
Showcase tour in Epcot (i'm sure there is a different name)

Things we've done that I would recommend:

Hoop dee do Revue
Dinner at V&A's
Dinner at California Grille during fireworks - tres romantique!!

That's it for now - let you know if I think of anything else!

DH and I went to see Circque De Soliel (left kids at HOME that trip!!) .....FABULOUS show. I would highly recommend it!

If we were planning for the ultimate trip i would be sure to have it include:

- a fishing trip on Bay Lake (never done, but always wanted to)
- one of those hot air balloon rides (orange blossom something or other - never done but always wanted to)
- our camper parked at FW for at least 10 days (allow plenty of time to just relax and take in the great atmosphere of that resort - did in 2001 and it was the trip we look back most fondly on)
- the Hoop Tee Doo on the first night (a sort of tradition for us)

I know what you are talking about with the finances going other places thing.....check out my signature. (those gutters were hidiously expensive!!!! We cancelled out fall trip last year and there will be no spring trip this year. We are saving for a loo-loo of a fall trip this year though.)

I would say definitely stay in whichever resort that is your favorite. Since I don't know your taste, I am not going to suggest one for you, but ours would be the Poly~!

:bounce: Bumping for others thoughts :bounce:

I asked DH this this afternoon and he said he really regrets never renting pontoon boats or water mice even though we ALWAYS say we are going to before heading down.

Where do you go to rent the water mice? What time can you rent them? I remember my mom and dad renting one way back in '76 and leaving me with my grandparents at the Poly beach. I've always wanted to ride in one myself since then.:D

You can rent water mice and pontoon boats or take fishing excursions from any of the WDW Resort marinas (OKW, Port Orleans FQ/RS, Epcot lake resorts, FW, MK Resorts) and you can parasail on Bay Lake.
