If it takes running to get me to Disney than I better start running PTR 5 DAYS TO GO!

Ugh. That's our Epcot day. I hope to hit MK Wed night( arrival day) for Wishes. Who knows. Plans could change.

Our plans may change too...you never know. :lmao::lmao:

I'll be posting each day's new set of plans over the next week or so on my PTR.

Hi,

Joining in. Can't wait to hear more about your plans. I also want to love running... but I just don't. :sad2: I tried the C25K program last summer and was really starting to enjoy it  when I did something that screwed up my knee and had me limping for a few months.

I am considering trying it again. And if there is anything that could motivate me to run, it is definitely Disney! :)

Looking forward to more! :surfweb:

Started week 4 on Monday and I still don't love running. Disney is definitely my motivation . I am determined to improve tho.

I have been SOOO absent on my own thread. It's been a busy few weeks and this whole running thing has me going to bed early and off the DIS at night. Actually probably a good thing. Anyway, let's talk plans....

I finally booked my flights(well 2weeks ago actually) I debated weather or not to book the first flight in the AM. I want to have as much Disney time as possible since this is such a short trip. But in the end I decided against it. We would have had to leave the house between 4:30 and 5am in order to get to the airport on time and I just had visions of cranky kids for the rest of the day. 10 am flight it is ! That should put us in Orlando by about 12:45pm. I'm still not sure if we will be taking ME or renting a car. I really like the idea of not having to wait for buses but I'm also really NOT liking the prices of rental cars right now. This is something I'm going to have to figure out.

Our plans for the day are as follows: check in and hit the pool. This is not necessarily what I would want to do, but what I know the family would want to do and it is their vacation too:rolleyes1. I am hoping to hit MK in the evening tho. I can't wait to see what DD thinks of the castle:cutie:

next ADR's ?

Keeping checking for specials on the cars. They are desperate to rent them (no one wants to because of the price of gas) and you'd be amazed what you can find a few weeks out. We have a car for two weeks in September for $334, but I know that closer to the trip I can get that price down.

A trip to Disney would motivate me to run, too. :rotfl:

Your kids are so cute! Love the red hair. :goodvibes

Life has been crazy, but today was the last day of school, soccer ended last weekend, and only 2 more weeks of baseball. THEN, hopefully we can slow things down a bit and I can work on some planning. I did get some fun news today tho. Jack's BFF will be going to Disney the same days as us! His family will be staying in an adjoining room. We are definitely doing separate vacations, but the boys will get to hang some. Maybe some park time together . Who knows. Time will tell.

I hope it gets better!! I still don't love running, but I don't mind it as much as I used to. Is it getting easier?

That is always why we do the mid-morning flight too! We are just complete zombies on that first AM flight - and Henry melts. It's not worth the extra hassle with the little ones!

I hope you make it to MK that night! :goodvibes I know the Hippy Dippy pool will be calling everyone, but...just a glimpse and maybe a quick ride! :wizard:

And I HEAR YA about the rental cars! UGH! Ours for MN later this month is soooo expensive. I hope it goes down for both of us!

The boys will have a blast being in adjoining rooms and seeing each other a bit!

Hi Dawn!! Joining in...finally! First of all, I LOVE your kids' names! Jack and Meadow...sooooo cute! We get in on the 29th too but we have an evening flight. Hoping to maybe make it to Epcot EMH that night but most likely will just go right to sleep because we have a VERY busy 4 days!

As far as the 5K....I've been "running" for a few years now but only seasonally! Haha! In the summer, I try to go every morning on the 2-mile loop in the park and every day I keep telling myself I need to go around twice but it's just not happening. And I'm sloooooow too! I'm thinking if I have to stop and walk at some point on this 5K, so be it! I'm not trying to get first place or anything! :lmao:

HI!:wave2:

I'm right there with you on the running. I've been doing C25K. Started week 9 this AM. I haven't "ran" 3 miles yet but I'm close. 2.5 "ran" today and 3/4 walked during warm up/cool down. I registered for 11-13 minute mile group but I'm not there yet. I will probably start in the back with my family anyway even if I do speed up a little.

I WILL up date this week. REALLY I will. :rotfl:

Hi there,

I'm joining in! You are doing a great job with the running! I love the idea of doing a race at Disney, maybe someday I will give it a shot also.

I also think you made the right decision about flights, nothing is worse than cranky kids on a long flight. Now everyone will be better rested and more likely to make it to MK that first night!

Hello! Your trip report caught my attention because it took a trip to Disney to get me back into running after DS was born as well! I just did the Princess 1/2 in February! Disney really does an awesome job and it was sooo much fun!

Congratulations on getting to week 9 of C25K. That is what I did when I started running both before DS and again after DS was born. If you are not loving running yet, just wait until after your first race! It is one of the most amazing feelings! Good luck!

Are you now a graduate of the C25K? I never made it past Week 5. :rolleyes1 BUT! even a year later, I can still run 20-25 minutes without stopping....or dying! ;) I could probably force myself to do more. Next cool evening, I'm going to go for it!

:welcome: Thanks. Disney is a great motivator. You should give it a try.

I agree about the flight decision. Now I just need to convince DH to get to the airport a little early so I can let Meadow run around before we board. He is not a good flyer and likes to get to the airport at the very last minute.:sad2:

:welcome: Congrats on the Princess :thumbsup2 That race looks like soo much fun. My neighbor was trying to talk me into doing it in 2012. I considered it for about 2 weeks before reality hit and I realized I do not have the time to train for 13.1 miles nor do I think I could ever actually run 13.1 miles. Who knows, maybe by 2013 I'll think differently about it.

Yup, I'm a graduate. :cool1: Ran my first 3.1 miles yesterday (after taking a week off ) and boy do I feel it today. Good for you for still being able to run for 20-25. It took me forever to get to that point and honestly I still struggle to get past that point. Dory often comes to mind when I start to get tired." Just keep swimming, just keep swimming" That and " Run Forest Run" :lmao:

:rotfl2: I guess I asked for that one huh!

Update tomorrow w ADR's I promise. I need to go to sleep so I can run at 5:30am and get a shower before DH needs to leave for BJJ class and work. Kathy ~ If I don't update tomorrow you can give me a hard time until I do. I'm tough, I can take it. :rotfl:

You've got a deal, my friend. :lmao::lmao:

So I have really been struggling with this whole "not planning" thing which has kind of caused me to ignore this PTR ...that and life has been very busy. But I've have decided that ADR's are a good thing and I'm going to keep the ones that I have made. I know DH would not be happy if we had to eat counter service the whole trip, plus I wanted to make sure we used up our meal plan. Anyway, Here they are :

Wed. Sept 28 - 6:20 @ The Plaza,
Thurs. Sept 29 5:25 @ Mama Melrose's,
Fri Sept 30 9:00am @ Whispering Canyon,
Sat Oct 1 @ 8:45am Rainforest Cafe AK,
Sun Oct 2 8:20am @ Crystal Palace

Most of them are breakfasts as we aren't really morning people. No Grab and Go in our house. :lmao: I doubt I will ever see a rope drop unless I leave my boys at home.:lmao:

I have also decided that I am going to make a top 3 things for each park list. I haven't done this yet but I kind of have an idea of what might go on that list. AK will probably be the hardest to make. We have never really spent to much time there and probably won't this trip either because of DD needing her nap. I am hoping to get Jack to ride EE with me again tho. Keep your fingers crossed for me. The boy is going backwards on me as far as rides are concerned. He really does think to much. :rolleyes1

I think you have a good idea of what Mama Melrose is like from my TR.... We have never eaten at Rain Forest or Whispering Canyon for breakfast so I can't help you there but Crystal Palace breakfast is awesome and with an 8:20 ADR you should be on an empty Main St. Unless the park opens before 8 (which I doubt in October). Make sure you get some of the puffed french toast at CP- I think they try to hide it on the kids buffet. :goodvibes:goodvibes
