Isn't that pretty much ALL the rides? So no Pirates, Alice In Wonderland, Pinocchio, etc...That might be a deal breaker for me.

So the annoucement didn't say "No indoor rides" it said "Limits on indoor rides". No one knows yet what that means. MiceAge has a great write up on it. They wrote "while the language may sound like the state doesn’t want indoor attractions, we actually believe that the “limitations” mean that many indoor attractions will be able to operate with capacity, distancing, and other limitations. "

The indoor capacity limits mean just that they can't run indoor rides with every vehicle full. They have to limit the number of people inside at any given time, and there is a time limit to how long people can remain indoors, which likely 15 minutes, to mirror CDC guidelines about exposure. None of the DL rides are longer than 15 minutes, so it won't be an issue.

^ What I'm guessing exactly. Space Mountain is no big deal - you haven't spent more than about 10 minutes in that building since they started holding everyone outside to make the FP line work. Pirates, HM and ROTR are probably just short of 15 minutes. I wish they'd just let Disney follow what WDW is doing (everything is open, 25% capacity on rides, shows AND dining). They've bumped up capacity as of late, but that's still the basic concept. Meanwhile, in CA...

When Disneyland fully opens in JULY, I expect decreased capacity on any indoor ATTRACTION.

:headache: Also assuming that Orange County's numbers keep improving. There's no guarantee that a county won't backslide. We've lost over 525,000 people to this virus in the US alone. I think it's worth it to be patient and see this through by following the guidelines as much as possible. We've already done it for a year... we can certainly wait a a few more months.

Of course there is no guarantee, but the numbers have been on a consistent downside for several weeks running now. Anaheim, specifically, has always been a "hot bed" of positive cases and today's case count gathered was 34. Less than 2 months ago, that number was ten times that.

I'm more inclined to agree with @whoever... I don't believe DLR will fully open in April even if Orange County is in the red tier. There are too many factors that weigh in to that decision, and Disney has not yet made a statement about an opening date. Would DLR even be profitable at 15% capacity if they had to bring all of the cast members back to run the parks but attendance was capped at such a low number?

Read on another site that Bob Chapek says late April reopening. I haven’t seen anything official though.

ETA: now it’s official

"we're encouraged by the positive trends we're seeing and we're hopeful they'll continue to improve and we'll be able to open our Parks to guests with limited capacity by late April"

That's not actually a confirmed April reopening. It's still dependent on Orange County getting into the red tier and staying there. Disney can announce a date, like they did last summer, and it can still get pushed. The CDC is still warning against a possible spike in cases due to the UK variant, which they expect to become the dominant virus this month in the US. Fingers crossed that this doesn't happen, and the parks can open ASAP.

No it’s not. But numbers are trending in the right direction at a rapid rate. And doesn’t lead to the belief that Disney’s plan is to wait until July.

I don't doubt that Disney does not want to wait one day longer than necessary to get DLR reopened. I never said they wanted to wait until July. If it were only up to Disney, they would have reopened long ago. Nothing about this pandemic has gone the way anyone expected or could predict. Being able to reopen in April would be the best-case scenario. I hope it does happen, but it may not. I also feel bad for all of the non-California residents who are being denied a chance to go when it does reopen.

I was going off of you saying you agreed with another poster who did say July 🤷‍♀️ (Who I also quoted).

I do feel bad for out of state residents, but honestly, after CA being “locked” up for a year now while most other areas went on with life, we have earned this.
