Just a quick question, IF I wanted to sell off some points, has anyone ever tried private sale (indiv to indiv)?

Thanks!
Rae

Rae,
I know of someone who has been trying to sell 80 okw points and she is not haviing any luck.
But I dont really think she has a very broad field.
Good luck.
Im sad that you are thinking of selling points tho. Hope everything is ok.

HI!
Well, I am just thinking about it - there is a person I want to help out (financially) and I have to look around and see what I have that is just "excess" and not necessary in my life.

Sometimes I feel like I have been so greedy and materialistic in "getting, getting and getting more" - that I haven't been as generous as I could have been.

So everything is fine with me, just got a big attack of conscious!

Many hugs!!!!

Rae

Rae,

I think it depends on how quickly you need the cash.

I listed my sale on TUG for a while. I think if I had been willing to let it sit for a while, the right buyer would have come along. But, the majority of emails I received, I had to reply back and give a lesson in DVC 101! :)

We eventually listed it with Shontell, and it was sold in a matter of hours.

Best of luck - and good for you for actually living out the true spirit of Thanksgiving!! :)

Do you have more than one contract? Maybe you can sell some of your points instead of all of them, if you want to still be a DVC member (or you can always buy a smaller contract). Do you go to WDW much, or mostly just vacation on the DCL? We like to do both, but I have decided not to use points for the DCL (we did that the last time after banking a year's worth of points and borrowing from next year's points). I think we will just use our 150 points for our visits to WDW and pay cash for our cruises.

Anyway, I hope it all works out well for you. Good Luck in your decision.

Thanks to all who replied and for the kind words. It has taken me many years to realize that it's not the toys we have accumulated in this life for ourselves, it's what we have freely given to others.

Not in a hurry to sell, want to be an informed seller first, then make the right decision for the situation. Don't want to take advantage or be taken advantage of!!!

God bless and Happy Thanksgiving to all,

Rae

Just a reminder that you have to sell an entire contract. If you have a contract for 200 points, you have to sell the entire 200, not just a lesser amount.

Rae519,

I recently sold off one contract (150 points) and will be listing another (100 points) and keeping a 100 point contract. The first contract was sold within hours with Shontell. I expect the second one to be sold quickly too because it is a small contract. Give Shontell a call: she's the best.

You must be a good friend to sell off your DVC, but I agree that all the toys we have are not important, people are.

How many points are you considering selling? And for which resort(s)?? Just curious because my dh and I have been considering buying a few points but hadn't quite figured out when or through whom to buy them... Feel free to e-mail me at shorner@waterw.com if you'd like to discuss it with me.

Thanks,
Sarah

I have 150 at VWL (March) and 100 at VB (September), plus 400 at HH (October).

Don't want to take or be taken in any deal, so approaching this slowly and cautiously!!!
