If I take the monrail from epcot to MK on July 4 and stay till the MK closes at 1 am will I be able to ride the monorail back to epcot and access my car on the parking lot or will the lot shuttles be shut down at epcot since it closes earlier.

Just returned from a trip where we tried this exact same thing for an e-night at MK. We asked two different information booths at Epcot, including the Transportation one right under the entrance to the monorail and were told that "yes, no problem, the monorail runs 1 hour after park closing." We explained that we were staying for e-night, etc. etc. They still both said yes. Well, guess what! When we left MK at 1 a.m. and disembarked at the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot, the gate was closed off. We told the monorail operator at MK what our problem was and she told us to go out the gates to the buses and someone would help us. When we got to the bus area and asked what to do, they said "there is nobody to take you to Epcot!" One driver suggested we stand in the "AK" bus stop and "maybe" someone would take us. At around 2 a.m. I think security started to radio different people to see why we were standing in the AK line at this time of night and a nice bus driver who said he was a "floater" and was ready to go off duty said he would take us to our car. What a life saver! It wasn't difficult for us to find our car as ours was the only one left in the entire lot! At that point we could only laugh at the situation, but we were a little nervous for awhile and the kids were extremely tired! SO........I would think about some alternate parking plan for MK that night. It really wasn't worth the hassle!

Thanks this was just what I was afraid of so I will definitely move my car It seemed like a good plan but I guess the best laid plans can go a rye.

Normally you should park at the last place you intend to be.

But maybe this situation needs to be brought to the attention of Disney higher up. The Epcot lot is the official overflow lot for MK when the MK/TTC lot fills up. Therefore transportation to Epcot needs to be running after E-Night finishes at least on peak days.

While resort guests are generally expected to use buses to get to the parks, my overall rating of the Disney transportation system is that it is so near maximum capacity that the overall scheme of things relies on a significant percentage of resort guests' driving, again on peak days.

Thanks for your input, AllanJ. Who should I bring this to the attention of? I would be happen to explain my "experience" to a higher up.

I am not sure of whom to contact but you could try,

1. On your next visit, stop off at any guest relations desk, at a park or at a resort,

2. Go to the web page
http://disney.go.com/Mail/DisneyWorld/index.html

You should write out a detailed description first rather than try to remember the details. If you use electronic means, it is a good idea to know how to cut and paste rather than type it all into e-mail or an on line form since if the phone line or something fails before it is sent, you lose a lot of typing.
