If I book dining for Jan. it is a package, so, If I change to 4/3 (if it comes out) which is also a package, will I have to get a different ressie # or can I keep the same?

I haven't had experience with this exactly, but just from my general understanding of codes/PINs and existing reservations this is how it is handled:

The 4/3 is a discount applied to a package, not a separate package. If the deal comes out, call and ask to have the discount code applied to your reservation. It doesn't require cancelling and rebooking.

I agree with MaggiesMom. You can call and have the code applied to the existing package ressie. If a "better" code comes out (or you get a PIN for a better deal) you can call & modify your ressie, or at least ask them to run the quote on the new offer, and take whatever is a better deal. I've done this a couple of times.

You can call and apply a discount code to your existing ressie, providing that there is availbility for the promotion on your dates and at your resort choice. Each resort has a limited number of rooms for each promotion

Unless you are changing from a room only res to a package, the answer to other part of your question is that your reservation number stays the same. They just apply the package code to it to change the pricing/deal.
