If Disney changed DDP again....

As long as it continues to save me money I will get it. It wouldn't stop me from going but depending what they changed that may change if I got the dining plan. We are trying the QSDP for our May trip but back to the basic DDP in Nov. I would say that we would be willing to pay more $ if they went back to the DDP that included tip and appetizer. I know they have the Dxdp but with kids ages 2&4 that just doesn't work for us. Too much food and time on that one.

Just curious, which place did they convert to a convention only venue? I must have missed that one.

Didn't LeCellier used to be a 2 credit restaurant or was it just not included originally on the DDP?

me too (curious about the convention only venue?)

the Adventurers club that was part of PI

for me, sorry, i would love it if the DDP were to go away. Would love to be able to get into the restaurants that are booked all the time now.

but either way, whether it stays or goes, we will be there :thumbsup2 (and using our ToW card ;)

The Dining Plan doesn't have anything to do with why I would or would not go to Disney. If it didn't work for me, I wouldn't get it. I'm glad they have the QS option now. I wish they would've had it last year.

We did the dining plan in '07 and loved it...we're doing it again this year for the sheer convenience of having everything paid for ahead of time (or almost everything) but I'm not so sure it's as worth it.

I have to say, I wouldn't care either way if the DDP were to go away (which I highly doubt because it keep their restaurants booked). In fact, I have been SO STRESSED about making the right ADR's (and now I may have to change some) that it would be a blessing really. I'd still make a few character meals and then eat offsite on our non-park days like we used to and eat CS while we're at the parks.

We're only staying onsite and doing the DDP b/c of the 4/3 deal. So it will not keep from coming to WDW in the future. We'll just stay offsite - which was our original plan anyway. The 4/3 deal got me!

Have you ever stayed on site? I'd be curious to hear how you liked that experience AND the DP. We had a first experience on site and I'd be pressed to return as an offsite guest. I just had a weekend stay at WDW w/o visiting a park and not on the DP. While I didn't miss the parks, I did miss the convenience of the DP, esp at CS and snack time. I had one TS meal for about a well spent $20 and ate another lite TS meal at a non DP restaurant. Next trip will be the real deal: onsite, parks and DP, just not sure when I can make that happen.

I like the DDP and usually get it every trip, but it's not a make or break deal for me. I'd still go to WDW several times a year whether they had a DDP or not.
