I mostly watched it for the actress that played Claire Huckstable as well as the kids. So maybe. He was not up on pedestal for me to begin with.

It's worth noting too that he hasn't actually been convicted of anything. If he had, maybe I'd feel differently, or if it was a case that was less "he said, she said". I don't believe that there should be a statute of limits, but it's been a long time. Hard to tell if the mistrial happened because jury believed in Cosby, or if it happened simply because they didn't believe the state had evidence beyond a reasonable doubt. Constand's testimony had inconsistencies which may be understandable but they also make her look unreliable. And some of the stuff is just odd, like 6 months after Constand was allegedly assaulted, she asked free tickets to one of his stand up shows for her family. I just don't see why anyone would do that. I don't disbelieve her, and I think he deserves jail time but I can see why the jury deadlocked.

I get that and usually agree. But in this case the sheer quantity of allegations has me looking at it differently.

Never watched it when it was first run and so I wouldn't start now. Absolutely zero interest. I did used to watch from time to time his series when he was the high school coach, but it was never a favorite.

Probably not, but I still own old albums of his stand up routines. I don't plan on getting rid of those.

And there are sayings in our house based on some of those routines, and we are still using them.

No. There are certain celebrities and prominent moguls in various industries whose public conduct is so reprehensible to me that I don't want anything to do with them or their work - what ever it might be.

I used to think his standup was funny.

I admit it is now tainted and I won't watch.

No. That show was on my list of shows that I thought we could watch with the kids (we don't watch live TV, but sometimes we'll watch old series that we know are relatively kid-friendly), but now we won't watch it. I'd can't imagine trying to explain to my kids why we'd support someone who drugged and raped dozens of women (and I do believe he did it, whether or not he was convicted of it). But we have talked about who he is and why what he did was wrong, and also why our family won't support him by watching his shows or movies.

Would I go out of my way to watch it? No.
If it was on and there wasn't much else of interest, would I watch it? Maybe. Depends on if it an early in the series run episode or a later one. Early, yes. Later, pass.

Who's the creep in Ferris Bueller?

Took a little googling, but I'm going to guess they're referring to actor Jeffrey Jones.

"In 2003, he pleaded no contest to employing a 14-year-old boy to pose for sexually explicit photos."

Oddly, I have less issue with watching his films, than with watching anything Cosby's done. I think it's because Jones pled guilty and acknowledged wrongdoing. Whereas Cosby's... coming across as really smug and unrepentant. Especially with those town halls he's apparently doing.

Jones makes me sad. Cosby turns my stomach.

If I was in the mood to watch it, I would watch it. I have a hard time getting into old shows, though. Except Friends and Frasier.

His name was Dean Rooney? I just read the actor is a bit more than just a creep in real life too. If so, I'm not really a fan of that movie. I can't really boycott it because I wouldn't watch it again anyway.

Do you mean actor Jeffrey Jones, who played the character "Principal Ed Rooney" in Ferris Bueller?

I really enjoyed the film, but it does seem to be one of those "love it or hate it" type of movies for most people I know. Jeffrey Jones was in so many movies in the 80's and 90's, almost always playing the bad guy. Beetlejuice, Howard the Duck, The Hunt for Red October, Ed Wood... He's still getting work, too.

Apples and oranges but comparing careers I'm surprised Chris Brown and R. Kelly still have careers. There's tons of other names that could be added too.

Yeah but wasn't Dean Rooney a creep in the movie too? So the actor wasn't really acting. He is a creep. I don't hate it. I just don't really care to see it again. I saw beetlejuice when it first came out. But never had the desire to see it again. Never saw howard the duck and probably wont though I have nothing against it. Haven't seen Frankenweenie either. Nothing against that movie but probably won't watch it. Of all those, red october would be the one I'd likely want to see again. But I have seen it so many times, it's definitely not a priority to see it again. And I already own it and have for a long time. So he already has whatever royalties he got from my BIL's purchase of that present. Was Jones the ship yard guy? That was little more than a cameo.

I had no idea, but strangely he is the one who came to my mind when I read the post.

I was never a big Cosby fan, so I won't be watching. But FBDO is one of my favorite movies. It helps that unlike Cosby's Dr. Huxtable, Jones is the villain in the movie...(yes, that's pure rationalization on my part)

Thanks for the info! :)

Yes, the principal. I had no idea.

I don't know, as I haven't actually seen Red October... Apparently, he was "Skip Tyler" and his IMDB quote is: "Skip Tyler: When I was twelve, I helped my daddy build a bomb shelter in our basement because some fool parked a dozen warheads 90 miles off the coast of Florida. Well, this thing could park a coupla hundred warheads off Washington and New York and no one would know anything about it till it was all over."

I get seriously weirded out by some actors (Jack Nicholson makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up), but for whatever reason Jones has never bothered me. The obnoxious authority figure was such a trope in 80's movies, I don't tend to assume that character actors are playing "real life" when they play that role. Given that he still gets regular work, I'm inclined to think that Jones gets along well with directors, producers, and his fellow actors, and hasn't made many enemies in show business.
