If anyone from the NFL reads here- IT'S OVER THEY HAVE SETTLED!!!

No matter how bad the calls are, and there are many, there is still no excuse for making contact with or berating the refs. Looks like the NFL should issue some suspensions, as fines are not getting the message delivered.

The sad thing is even if the NFL and the regular refs reach a new contract, it would still be up to 2 more weeks of replacements working the games.

Did you happen to watch the Vikings game? With about 4 minutes left to play, the refs awarded the 49ers their 3rd and final timeout. During this 3rd time out, the 49ers coach challenges the play. The refs grant the coach a challenge that he does not have since he is out of time outs. The refs reverse the call on the field and award the ball to the 49ers. The refs award the 49ers another timeout. Within several plays the 49ers turn the ball over. The Vikings run the ball and Gerhart fumbles. The 49ers coach challenges the play. He loses and the Vikings maintain the ball and win the game. All of this in a matter of roughly 6 plays!

Have I watched a game this year? :rolleyes1

No i didn't as it didn't air here. Saw some small highlights only for that game.

thats a thought however if it be the regular refs or relpacements there will always be injuries due to the nature of the sport. football is a violent sport and players will be hurt.i truly understand the flow of the game is not as good, however this past weekend the flow was much better. just like any job the more experience the better off you are. and unless we as patrons dont pay to watch the games the replacents will have to suffice.

Too many bad calls. If this isn't settled soon, this season is history.

GO REDSKINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. I was getting mad yesterday and my team was not even on the field. The one Seahawk's game I went to this year the crowd was booing the ref's because it took them 3 times as long to make a call. Im ready for the real ref's to come back.

Go Seahawks!!

After SuperBowl 40, we know how to deal w/inept refs, so that should give us the advantage. :rolleyes1

2 weeks and I get to see them at Carolina :woohoo::banana:

I got fed up with the NFL about 15 years go. I don't understand why the players, who are union, are crossing the ref's picket lines.

Professional sports unions are a total farce. All the benefits of a union & none of the downside. If it were a real union, Payton Manning would make the same money as his backup QB ;)

I was listening to the Packer's pre-game show on the way home from DS's football game and they were discussing the ref's.

One thing they said that stuck with me is the "culture" of player safety that has developed over the last couple years has completely disappeared within 3 weeks. They also said they hope someone doesn't end up paralyzed before things are reined in.

Holy Crap -the last play was a freakin' joke!!! Jennings totally had the ball and the review upheld the ruling of touchdown for Seattle. Seriously, the season is over!!!! What a serious crock of crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I believe that was the worst call I have ever seen in all my yrs of watching football!

As my DS said a Pop Warner ref would have got that call right.

Most ridiculous call I have ever seen.

I think the Packers should ask for an investigation into how much the ref was getting paid off to throw the game. Sounds like some insider gambling to me.

Yep, somebody is going to get hurt. I've seen more cringe-worthy hits this past weekend than I've seen in a long time. They're hitting so hard & so aggressively that I can only hope it's one person that gets hurt in a weekend & not multiple & no one permanently.

So where are these refs from? I would think even college refs at the Division I level would have a pretty good understanding of the pro system, despite the differences. Are these guys just totally clueless?
